The true events that inspired the movie!

Life as Kim and Krickitt Carpenter knew it was shattered beyond recognition two months after their marriage when a devastating car wreck left Krickitt with a massive head injury and in a coma for weeks.

When she finally awoke, she had no idea who Kim was. With no recollection of their relationship and while Krickitt experienced personality changes common to those who suffer head injuries, Kim realized the woman he had married essentially died in the accident.

And yet, against all odds, Kim and Krickitt fell in love all over again. The Vow tells the true story of this journey, one of a commitment unbroken and a vow fulfilled.

"Cast of Characters: Lost & Found" by Max Lucado - Chapter One (Audio)

Audio: http://oasisaudio.com/product.php?prod=9781613751176
Hardcover Book: http://www.maxlucado.net/best-sellers/cast-of-characters-lost-and-found-hard-back

I once was lost but now am found.

The words of the old hymn echo through the generations. They are a reminder that we are lost before we can be found. They are a promise that when we are the former, we can become the latter.

The Bible is filled with a cast of characters who were lost. The crippled man at the Beautiful Gate. The leper. Even King David, whose colossal collapse turned him into a liar and murderer. These are the hopeless, hapless, and hurting faces that fill Scripture. These are also the faces we see when we look in our own mirrors.

We've been crippled by fear, been rejected by those who are supposed to love us, and made the worst kinds of mistakes. We're lost.

But we're not without hope. The stories that pepper Scripture's pages tell us of a God who finds the lost. A God who gives grace and changes lives forever.

Join master storyteller Max Lucado on a journey through the stories of some of his favorite characters who encountered the living God. Those who were lost have been found.

And the same God who redeemed their lives can redeem yours too.

Hal Lindsey Report (3-30-12): Cash for Peace, Cash for War, Going Rogue Again, India and China Say 'No,' Flying by Instruments

Thanks to OmniChristianVids3 for uploading the video to YouTube.

(Disclaimer: Video and information from Hal Lindsey Media Ministries. Reposted here for educational purposes only.)

This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'
More than 30 years ago, Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin signed the historic Camp David Accords. In doing so, the once bitter enemies broke with history and altered the complexion of the Middle East.

The action required great courage and vision by each man. Anwar Sadat paid with his life.

Three years later, Islamist soldiers from Sadat's own army avenged Islam's honor by killing him for making peace with Islam's mortal enemy, Israel.

And though they tried, at the same time, to murder Egypt's vice president, Hosni Mubarak, they failed to do so. Mubarak succeeded Sadat and for the next three decades held true to Anwar Sadat's courageous heritage. To be frank, at times the peace between Egypt and Israel has been a cold one. It has been, nonetheless, peace.

And the United States rewarded Egypt for its faithfulness. Over the past 33 years, Egypt has received more than $28 billion in foreign and military aid from the U.S., not to mention many other forms of preferential treatment. Not in any way to demean Sadat's vision and courage, but the promise of assistance was part and parcel of the Accords. And it was contingent on Egypt's continued adherence to the treaty.

Some cynics labeled the deal, "Cash for peace." But it was still peace.

When massive internal protests and pressure from the Obama Administration forced Hosni Mubarak to resign in early 2011, the peace deal with Israel began to unravel. Cross border attacks on Israeli civilians -- to which Egyptian border guards turned a blind eye -- increased. Sabotage of the pipeline transporting natural gas from Egypt to Israel became commonplace. Attacks on Israeli offices, and those of other nations, in Egypt began to occur. Understanding that things were changing, the US Congress cut off foreign aid to Egypt until the Secretary of State could certify that the new government would continue to uphold the treaty, or if she deemed it necessary to America's national security.

Then this week, the lower house of the Egyptian parliament -- which is now completely controlled by the Muslim Brotherhood and another, even more radical, party -- voted unanimously to expel Israel's ambassador and cut off natural gas sales to Israel. The resolution declared that "Egypt will never be a friend, partner or ally of the Zionist entity, which we consider to be the number one enemy of Egypt and the Arab nation."

Now, the Egyptian parliament does not have the power to enforce its declaration, only the current ruling military council can do that. But the parliament's resolution indicates a seismic shift in the relationship between Egypt and Israel.

By any reckoning, this represents the first step toward Egypt's abrogation of its treaty with Israel.

So how did the Obama Administration respond? Not as any rational person would expect. Instead, the President instructed Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to issue the necessary "national security" waiver so that military aid to Egypt could be resumed.

Some cynics (including me) might label this deal, "Cash for war!"

Egypt is one of only two Arab nations that have paper treaties with Israel. The other is Jordan. If Egypt can get away with threatening its treaty without repercussions, there's little reason for Jordan's King Abdullah to risk his throne by keeping his father's (King Hussein) peace deal with Israel.

With the entire Arab Middle East rapidly morphing into a Muslim Brotherhood caliphate, even if the details aren't clear, the direction in which events are leading is crystal clear. And it's the direction the Bible predicted for the final days.

On February 29, North Korea signed a pledge with the United States to honor a moratorium on long-range missile launches. It also promised to suspend uranium enrichment and nuclear tests and to admit U.N. weapons inspectors. In return, the U.S. promised to supply 240,000 metric tons of food supplies to the impoverished nation.

16 days later, the North Koreans reneged. Again.

North Korea announced that it would violate the new agreement and launch a weather satellite into space. The launch is timed to coincide with the celebration of the 100th birthday of Kim Il-sung, the founder of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Naturally, both the U.S. and the United Nations are upset. Not only does North Korea's announcement leave the U.S. looking fooled once again, but it flies in the face of a Security Council resolution passed in 2009 requiring North Korea to suspend long-range missile launches.

On top of that, it overshadowed President Obama's Nuclear Security Summit which met in Seoul, South Korea this week. Some things just cannot be forgiven!

India and China, the world's two most populous nations, don't always see eye to eye. But on one subject, they're in total agreement. Both nations have let it be known that their national airlines will not pay the new carbon tax being levied by the European Union. How will the airlines thwart the plan? Simple. They won't surrender their internal flight data to the Europeans so they can compute the bill.

Other disgruntled nations are planning to follow suit.

Hmmm. Kings of the east refusing to cooperate with the latest form of the revived Roman Empire forcing its policies on the rest of the world. This could get interesting.

Finally, I want to share with you the most important truth God ever showed me. All of God's miraculous powers flow through the believer who enters into God's supernatural dimension described in this promise found in Hebrews 4:10: "For the one who has entered into His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His."

It's only from this dynamic base called "God's rest" that we can enter by faith into all the wonderful things God has provided us for living a fruitful and exciting life. If you're not living in the "faith-rest," don't miss this important lesson. It will change your life. It certainly changed mine.

On a personal note, I've been battling some daunting physical challenges the last couple of years. As many of you know, the march of time can sometimes be unkind. And I've been marching for more than eight decades!

Don't be alarmed, though, I remain capable of producing and appearing on "The Hal Lindsey Report" each week -- and will do so. However, I would appreciate your prayer on my behalf that God will continue to sustain me with His strength. Pray, also, that He will make the way clear for a more thorough resolution to these difficulties, either through my earthly physicians or through His healing power.

I'm sure you feel the way I do, that our lives are in His hands. We trust Him completely and want only His will accomplished through our lives. Thanks for believing with me to that end.

Don't miss this week's Report on Daystar, Inspiration Network, CPM Network, various local stations, www.hallindsey.com or www.hischannel.com. Please check your local listings.

Love Language Minute: Why is Communication So Hard?

by Dr. Gary Chapman
www.fivelovelanguages.com

Why does communication break down after marriage? Often, the answer lies in emotions. Before marriage we felt one over-powering emotion . . . love. But now the emotions of hurt, anger, disappointment, and fear often dominate. These emotions do not encourage us to communicate. Or, if we communicate it is likely to be critical.

We speak out of our anger and create even more negative feelings. The key is learning how share emotions without condemnation. "I'm feeling hurt and when you have time, I need your help." Identifying your feelings and choosing to share them is step one. Step two is accepting the feelings of your mate and asking, "What can I do to help?"

Why is communication so important in a relationship? Because we are not mind readers. The apostle Paul recognized this reality when he asked the question, "Who knows a person's thoughts except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God." The reason we know what God is like is because God has chosen to reveal Himself. If we reciprocate, we can have a love relationship with God.

Likewise, when we reveal ourselves to another, and they listen and reciprocate, we can build an intimate relationship with that person. Communication is to a relationship what breathing is to the body. Don't stop talking and don't stop listening.

Iran—Arrests Continue as Government Clarifies Position on Nadarkhani Case
Source: Middle East Concern, ChristianPost.com, VOM Contacts

Acts 20:23–24
except that the Holy Spirit testifies in every city, saying that chains and tribulations await me. But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

As Iran celebrates the Iranian New Year, Iranian Christians face an ongoing wave of arrests that began last December. Several believers were released in March, but at least 27 remain in detention. Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, who was arrested in October 2009 and subsequently sentenced to death, remains a matter of international concern. The Christian Post reported on March 15 that an Iranian envoy told a human rights investigator that Nadarkhani was guilty of “offending Islam.” The envoy said Nadarkhani was inviting juveniles into his home to preach Christianity, that he had an illegal church in his basement, and that by preaching Christianity he had offended Islam. Previously, the Iranian government had said Nadarkhani was charged with rape, extortion and Zionism. The United States, Brazil, Netherlands, Germany, Mexico, France, Great Britain and the European Union have all called for Nadarkhani’s release. Pray for all Iranian Christians who are persecuted for their faith.

Egypt—Christians Seek New Leader After Coptic Pope’s Death
Sources: VOM Contacts, Compass Direct News, Assist News Service

Matthew 5:13–14
You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden.

The leader of Egypt’s Coptic church has died, and Egyptian Christians ask for prayer as they choose their next leader. Pope Shenouda III, who led the Coptic Christian Church in Egypt for more than three decades, died on March 17 at age 88. Shenouda led the church through some of its most challenging times, often coming into conflict with the government. He spent three years in prison in 1981 for his criticism of then-President Sadat. His death comes at a time when the church is battling the worst persecution in its history. Salafist Islamist leaders publicly celebrated Shenouda’s death. The church now faces the daunting task of choosing a new leader. “We need to pray that God might choose the right man … who could unify all the different denominations in the country against the expected persecution,” wrote our VOM worker in Egypt. “Many Christians have left the country already…, but we pray for those true believers to remain as God’s salt and light.”

Yemen—Al-Qaida Claims Responsibility for Death of Development Worker

Psalm 116:15
Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints.

A 32-year-old American English teacher was gunned down in the central Yemeni city of Taiz on March 18, and al-Qaida members have claimed responsibility. A Pennsylvania newspaper identified the victim as Joel Wesley Shrum, a former high school football star who moved to Yemen in 2010 to work for International Training Development Centre, a nonprofit organization. Two men on a motorcycle approached Shrum’s car and opened fire as he was on his way to his job as an English teacher at the center. Text messages later circulated saying “holy warriors” had killed a “senior missionary.” The school has denied that Shrum was a missionary. He leaves behind a wife, Janelle, and two young sons.

Update on Youcef Nadarkhani

Iranian Government: Nadarkhani Offended Islam
An Iranian envoy has denied an execution order was issued for Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, but revealed a list of charges against the evangelical Christian that allegedly make him guilty of "offending Islam." The envoy said Nadarkhani was inviting juveniles into his home, without their parent's permission, to preach Christianity. He also claimed Nadarkhani converted his basement into a church without the government's permission. He also said that in preaching Christianity, Nadarkhani was offending Islam, a serious charge that shows the true reason why his case is so concerning to the government.

Backstory:
Youcef Nadarkhani, a 34-year-old pastor from Rasht, about 750 miles northwest of Tehran, was arrested in October 2009 after he protested a government policy that required children, including his 8- and 9-year-old sons, to study the Quran in school. Youcef told school officials that the Iranian constitution allows for freedom of religious practice. As a result of his protest, secret police called him before a political tribunal and arrested him for protesting. The charges were later amended to apostasy and evangelism of Muslims. Youcef was tried on Sept. 21–22, 2010 by the 1st Court of the Revolutionary Tribunal and sentenced to death on Nov. 13 for apostasy.

The pastor is imprisoned in Lakan prison, where authorities have used various methods, including medication, to convert him back to Islam.

After Youcef refused to convert to Islam, his wife was arrested, put on trial without an attorney and sentenced to life in prison. She was later released after an attorney appealed her sentence. The Nadarkhanis’ children were cared for by a relative while they were both in prison.

Understanding God's Ways Through His Word

by John Paul Jackson, March 2012
http://www.streamsministries.com

God is not separate from what He does. Everything He does speaks of Him. His every action declares His name and nature. This means that we can look at our circumstances, both good and bad, and expect to see a deeper meaning within them:

What is God’s heart in this? What does this situation, or the remedy to this situation, reveal about the Father? What is God saying? What is He declaring about Himself?

Knowing God’s ways is the same as knowing God, and it is one step deeper than knowing “about” God. We need to know His ways so that we won’t be bowled over and crushed by circumstances that bring us pain.

We can do several things to expand our understanding of why God does what He does. In this article, I want to highlight two steps in particular: We can study His Word, and we can pray His Word.

Christ's Resurrection: Where Exactly Did Jesus Appear, and to Whom?

by Elizabeth Mitchell March 21, 2012

Some people assert that the Gospel accounts of the locations, witnesses, and timing of the post-Resurrection appearances of Jesus are contradictory. Scripture exhorts us to be always prepared with answers for the hope that is in us. As the annual time of our celebration of our Lord’s Resurrection draws near, Answers in Genesis is presenting a defense and proposed timeline of some of the most important events in history. This timeline shows that there are absolutely no contradictions in the accounts of the post-Resurrection appearances of Jesus. Like a good reporter piecing together a story from reliable eyewitnesses, we must examine all the eyewitness accounts recorded in God’s Word, realize by faith that for Scripture to be reliable they must all be true, and then see how they fit together without any contrivances.

Continue reading to see how these accounts are actually complementary rather than contradictory: http://www.answersingenesis.org/articles/aid/v7/n1/post-resurrection-appearances#continuereading

A Love Language Minute: Long Distance Love

by Dr. Gary Chapman
http://www.5lovelanguages.com/

Question:
"How can one deal with a long distance relationship when the spouse's love language is Physical Touch? I am desperate and don't want this to end because of the distance."

Answer:
I am often asked this question when I speak to military couples. The good news is that all of the love languages can be spoken long distance. I know you may be thinking, "How can I speak the language of Physical Touch when we are half a world away?" It's not that difficult.

In a letter, phone call, or e-mail you say, "If I were with you, I would put my arms around you and give you a kiss you would never forget."

No, it is not the same as actually doing it. However, it communicates love emotionally. They know that you are thinking about them and their love language. One wife said recently, "Learning to speak my husband's love language long distance has made a world of difference. And, he is speaking my language. He writes, "If I were at home, I'd vacuum the floor and take out the trash without your asking. Wow! That speaks to me." So my advice? Try it. I think you'll like it.

2012 Spiritual Heritage Tours to DC/Mount Vernon & Williamsburg

by Tim Wildmon, President
American Family Association
http://afa.net/

Does America really have a deep Christian heritage? Is it really a coincidence that the most Christian country the world has ever known is also the freest, most prosperous and most generous country the world has ever known?

I just wanted to let you know we have two tours of Washington, D.C., including George Washington's Mount Vernon Estate, planned for 2012. One is in June and the other in September. There is not another tour of our nation's capital like ours. We have been leading these tours for over 10 years and have taken nearly 1,500 people.

For more information click on www.spiritualheritagetours.com. In addition, we have added, for the first time, a tour of Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown that will precede the Washington tours. You can click on the "Williamsburg" banner on the website for all the information.

Historian Stephen McDowell of the Providence Foundation will again provide talks and stories all along the way making our tour one of great educational value. Every detail is planned so there is no wasted time. Give us four days and we will give you a Christian-based and historically accurate experience in America's capital that you will treasure for a lifetime.

"I do not know where you are at this moment and how it is with you. Things could be rough and tough and you may think of letting go and giving up. This is an encouragement. Hold on and stay tight for the end is far better than the beginning. This is not the time or the place you have to question your faith because things are not working for you the way they ought to. You need to trust God completely and believe him when he said that all things work good to them that love him. This condition or state that you are now is working for your own good." Pakistan—Pastor Discusses Christianity with Pakistani Teacher
Sources: VOM Contacts

Mark 5:36
As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, He said to the ruler of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid; only believe.”

An Arabic-language teacher at a government school in Pakistan has been meeting with a VOM-supported pastor to learn more about Christianity. The encounters began after the teacher learned that one of his students was a Christian. “I’ve never met a Christian in my life,” he told the young man. “How do you Christians pray?” The student invited him to speak with his pastor. At first the discussions were difficult because the teacher didn’t feel he could speak openly. But last month, the pastor visited the teacher’s school and brought pencils and notebooks for the students. That day, the pastor and the teacher spoke for two hours, and the teacher requested a Bible so he could look up some of the verses the pastor cited. The Pakistani teacher suggested they discuss the topic of whether Jesus is the Son of God the next time they meet. The pastor asks for our prayers. “Please pray for me, when I have this meeting, that God will protect me and the Holy Spirit will guide me and save the soul of [this teacher], so he can accept Jesus Christ as his personal savior.”

Azerbaijan—Church Sued Under Religion Law
Sources: Forum 18 News

Matthew 22:20–22

And He said to them, “Whose image and inscription is this?”
They said to Him, “Caesar’s.”
And He said to them, “Render therefore to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.” When they had heard these words, they marveled, and left Him and went their way.

Azerbaijani authorities are suing the Greater Grace Church in Baku, in what is thought to be the first attempt to close a religious community under the nation’s religion law. The 2009 law requires that all religious groups re-register with the government. If the state committee suing Greater Grace Church succeeds, the church will lose its right to exist. Greater Grace, which first registered with the government in 1993, says it was unaware that it needed to re-register and that authorities gave no warning before filing the liquidation suit against them. In the past, authorities have acted secretly to shut down churches, but it now appears they will operate openly, with the backing of the law. Several hundred churches waiting for official registration fear that if Greater Grace is closed, many others will be closed as well. The first hearing was held on Thursday, March 15, and court proceedings are expected to resume on March 29.

Nigeria—Church Bombings Continue
Source: Compass Direct News, VOM Contacts

Ephesians 6:13
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

At least nine Christians were killed in Jos, Nigeria, on March 11 in the second church bombing within two weeks. In this most recent attack, Boko Haram terrorists targeted the 3,000-member St. Finbar’s Catholic Church, in an affluent Jos neighborhood. Security personnel forced the attackers to detonate their bomb before their car reached the sanctuary. Among the victims were two women in their 50s and two boys, aged 8 and 16. Reprisal attacks by Christians reportedly occurred after the bombing, and witnesses reported additional deaths of Christians at the hands of military personnel. The husband of one victim told Compass Direct, “What is happening in Nigeria today is a war against the Church. We need to fight back spiritually, as this is the only way we as Christians can survive it.”

Hal Lindsey Report (3-23-12): Destroy the Churches, Our New Masters?, Doubling Down, Rebound!

Thanks to OmniChristianVids3 for uploading the video to YouTube.

(Disclaimer: Video and information from Hal Lindsey Media Ministries. Reposted here for educational purposes only.)

This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'

Mark Twain once observed, "If you don't read the newspaper, you are uninformed. If you do, you are misinformed."

On the whole, I emphatically agree with that statement. I would beg to differ with Mr. Twain on one point, though. In today's Mainstream Media (MSM) environment, I believe you can read the newspaper (or watch the news programs) and still be UNinformed on certain subjects.

Of course, those subjects would include things like anything impugning Islam or civil rights organizations or the Administration or the homosexual rights movement or... well, you get the picture.

My point is that you will most probably be MISinformed, but on certain topics you'll be UNinformed because the media will NOT report them.

For instance, you've probably not heard that Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, recently announced that, "It is necessary to destroy all the churches in the region." By "region," he meant the entire Arabian peninsula, including Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Kuwait, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Dubai, and Bahrain.

Why is this important? As Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Abdul Aziz bin Abdullah is the highest religious authority in the birthplace (Saudi Arabia) and holiest place (Mecca) in all of Islam. Moreover, he actually heads the highest council of Islamic scholars and chairs the committee that issues fatwas. So when he speaks, it resonates through all of Islam.

For him to call for the destruction of all churches in the Arabian peninsula is comparable to the Archbishop of Canterbury calling for the destruction of all mosques in Great Britain, or the Pope calling for the burning of mosques across the world, or the Chief Rabbis of Israel condemning them in Israel. It's a big deal.

But not to the Mainstream Media. For them, it merits a yawn. Or worse, a cover-up because it's not politically correct to publish negative reports on Islam, the religion of peace, love, and tolerance.

On the other hand, maybe the MSM is simply afraid of Muslims. Look what happened when the pastor of a 50-member congregation in Florida burned a Koran. Heads of State denounced him and Muslims worldwide rioted and murdered innocent people. So maybe the media feels it's safer not to report the Grand Mufti's fatwa. They would rather offend Christians and Jews who won't riot and murder in protest.

And you probably won't hear too much about what appears to be the latest grandstanding ploy by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). In an effort to derail Voter ID laws before the 2012 general election, the NAACP has appealed to the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva, Switzerland.

Now, I'm not sure what the NAACP hopes to accomplish with this move, other than keeping the donor funds flowing because it gives the appearance that the organization is actually doing something, even though it's irrelevant and unnecessary. Seeing as how the UNHRC is composed of some of the worst human rights abusers in the world -- some of them torture and imprison dissidents, some of them don't allow women to vote, others don't have elections, some don't even claim to be democracies, and several of the European nations have even stricter Voter ID laws than the ones the NAACP is protesting -- it seems like an exercise in futility. Or sheer hypocrisy. And besides, the UNHRC has no legal authority to intervene. So what's the point?

But I'll bet you won't hear much about it in the MSM. Probably because 32 states have passed Voter ID laws, a monumental majority of Americans are in favor of them (even a large majority of Democrats!), and the MSM knows that if it blows the whistle on the NAACP, it will only make the Progressive Left look more ridiculous than it does already.

Speaking of ridiculous, have you heard about the latest pronouncement by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)? Remember the firestorm created when the HHS announced that religious organizations such as hospitals, charities, schools, and colleges and universities will be required to offer their employees insurance packages that include contraceptives and abortifacients? Never mind that the churches which sponsor those organizations are spiritually and morally opposed to those practices. This is Obamacare and it supersedes trivial stuff like spiritual values, morals, conscience, or religious liberty. Well, that attitude turned out to be not a good thing for an Administration standing for re-election in nine months.

So you'd think now would be the time to offer a compromise, right? Wrong. Instead, the Administration decided to double down.

Last week, the HHS announced that religious colleges and universities (along with all the others) will be required to offer contraceptives, abortifacients, and sterilization in their student insurance packages. Never mind that they are spiritually and morally opposed to those practices. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? Of course, the government is going to order the insurance companies to provide the services "free of charge" to all those students (wink, wink) so the churches which own the schools, colleges, and universities won't feel morally and spiritually violated.

Apparently, the Administration still doesn't get it. And besides, why are we offering free sterilization to college students whose lives still lay before them? I would be tempted to say this is just another stupid, tone-deaf maneuver by the Administration if it weren't for something HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius told a Congressional committee.

She argued that forcing insurers to cover the contraceptive, sterilization, and morning-after pills free of charge to the religious institutions (as if that would salve their wounded consciences) will actually save money in the long-run because it will decrease the number of babies born. She said, "The reduction in the number of pregnancies compensates for the cost of contraception."

Europeans are aborting and contracepting themselves out of existence. Meanwhile, Russia is desperately encouraging its citizens to have more children. And we Americans, the world's most Christian nation, are forcing our church colleges to offer free sterilizations to their students. The sad truth is that the Progressive Left has long been a pioneer and promoter of population manipulation and control. Is that what this is about? Or is it simply a conscious attack on our religious heritage and freedom of conscience?

Finally, since "March Madness" is in full swing, I'll close this week's program with a report I call, "Rebound!" Though I enjoy basketball, don't expect to get any inside info to help with your tournament brackets! I will discuss a very important part of the Christian's life. That is, how to maintain fellowship with God. It may be more important than you realize. And it may be easier than you think. But it's something that each believer definitely needs to practice.

Hal Lindsey Report (3-16-12): America the Duped, the U.N.'s Army?, the New Racism, Here's Why, Another Bright Idea, Know Thine Enemy

Thanks to OmniChristianVids3 for uploading the video to YouTube.

(Disclaimer: Video and information from Hal Lindsey Media Ministries. Reposted here for educational purposes only.)

This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'

The disciples once asked Jesus to tell them the signs that would precede His return to earth. He gave them a list that included earthquakes, famines, wars, pestilences, and more. But the first thing He said was, "Take heed that no man deceive you." Deception will be a hallmark of the last days.

One would think it would be difficult to deceive Americans. We are the most-wired, most-informed, most-open society on earth. In fact, in history. But everyday I'm stunned by how ignorant, uninformed, and "in the ozone" so many people are. They seem to believe everything the media says without questioning it. They refer to popular culture as if it's reality. They spend their time, energy, and treasure on the most meaningless pursuits and stuff. And by "stuff," I mean stuff -- tons of it.

Yet our society is crumbling around us. The spiritual heritage of our nation is being systematically undermined. The essential foundational principles that built our nation and made it great, like free enterprise, individual liberty, private property rights, freedom of assembly, freedom of worship, freedom of speech and thought, are all being attacked daily by our progressive liberal government and those who want to see us become just another European socialized state.

The media doesn't report it, and when it does, the people don't seem to care. If this isn't the strong delusion the Bible promised would come, then it's the conditioning process that will lead to it.

Whether it's the Secretary of Defense telling the Congress that the Administration needs the approval of the UN or NATO, not Congress, to militarily intervene in Syria; students in Texas being punished and having to apologize for chanting, "USA, USA" at a high school basketball game; or the Department of Energy giving a $10 million prize for a new LED light bulb that will only cost 50 bucks for a two-pack, the America of today doesn't look much like the America of yesterday.

Of course, and you've heard me say this before, we can pin the blame for much of this drift on America's institutions of higher education. Talk show host and author Dennis Prager recently produced a list of educational priorities that will govern the education of your college-bound graduate during the next four years. Trust me. When you hear it, you may reconsider sending your son or daughter to college.

Mr. Prager pointed out that the obvious goals of many professors and administrators in our nation's universities are not as noble as they would have you believe. In fact, one of the shining icons of the progressive Left articulated it best. When Woodrow Wilson was preparing to leave the presidency of Princeton University (originally a Presbyterian college for training ministers) to become President of the United States, he made a stunning statement. In a speech, Wilson admitted, "I have often said that the use of a university is to make young gentlemen as unlike their fathers as possible."

If you hardly recognize your children when they return from college, now you know why.

Finally, it's easy to become discouraged when we look at the mounting evils and overwhelming changes that come rushing at us everyday. Maybe the most common emotion is a sense of helplessness. Don't be alarmed. That's how you should feel. You see, we are not fighting against other political ideologies. We're not trying to stem the tide of immorality foisted on us by a few money-hungry entertainment executives. We're not battling to maintain our free enterprise system or quality of life that's threatened by some misguided socialists and communists. We're not even trying to prevent the destruction of our Judeo-Christian heritage by an ever-growing Islamic threat. It's much bigger than that.

The Apostle Paul described it like this. He said, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood (people), but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places." In other words, we're fighting against Satan and his colossally powerful demonic forces. And if we were fighting alone, we WOULD be overwhelmed. But, praise God, we are not fighting alone. The Holy Spirit in His restraining ministry holds Satan's hordes at bay. And Paul describes how we are armored and armed to fight these battles through the Word of God and the power of His Spirit.

And though it will not be easy -- remember, it took the angel 21 days to fight his way through to minister to Daniel -- we are promised victory if we follow the instruction of the Word and depend upon the leading of the Spirit.

And, in the end, having done all, we will stand. Folks, we've got great armor. Let's use it.

Poor Kids (BBC Documentary)

2011 documentary telling the stories of some of the 3.5 million children living in poverty in the UK. It is one of the worst child poverty rates in the industrialised world, and successive governments continue to struggle to bring it into line. So who are these children, and where are they living? Under-represented, under-nourished and often under the radar, 3.5 million children should be given a voice. And this powerful film does just that.

Eight-year-old Courtney, 10-year-old Paige and 11-year-old Sam live in different parts of the UK. Breathtakingly honest and eloquent, they give testament to how having no money affects their lives: lack of food, being bullied and having nowhere to play. The children might be indignant about their situation now, but this may not be enough to help them. Their thoughts on their futures are sobering.

Sam's 16-year-old sister Kayleigh puts it all into context, as she tells how the effects of poverty led her to take extreme measures to try and escape it all.

Poor Kids puts the children on centre stage, and they command it with honesty and directness. It's time for everyone to listen.

The Fear of Rejection

(Disclaimer: This article does not belong to me. I am only posting a copy of it on my blog here for educational, non-commercial purposes. To find more resources on the author and their works go to their websites shown in the links below).

Today’s Sure Word: God has increase the quality of my faith

The Miracles of Jesus: Draught of Fish: Repositioning! Vol. 012

4Now when he had left speaking, he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught. 5And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. Luke 5

Part of moving forward with repositioning and reinventing yourself may mean overcoming and conquering four F’s! There may be many other things, but sometimes if you can master the three F's then you can master repositioning and reinventing yourself for success! The four F’s that I am going to focus on are ‘Fear of Change; Fear of your dream not succeeding. Fear of rejection from others and fear of the things you fear most. Today we shall be looking at ‘Fear of rejection from others.’

Fear of rejection from others: What is fear of rejection? What common behaviour patterns exist for people who operate out of a fear of rejection? How do others react to people who operate out of a fear of rejection? What are some underlying causes for operating out of a fear of rejection? Steps to overcome the fear of rejection:

Every one of us experiences rejection at some time in our lives. It may be by a person with whom you want to have a relationship with or it could be when you have been, turned down for a job you really want. The truth is that the only people who never experience rejection are those who never interact with other people, which in effect, make for a pretty reclusive and lonely existence.

The fear of being rejected creates a very damaging pattern of behaviour in our lives. It can cause us to feel that we are not good enough and that we are failures. Within relationships, it can cause us to become obsessive, clingy and jealous and can destroy relationships that have barely begun through us becoming too serious too soon which can drive others away. This manifests itself whereby a partner simply having a chat with someone else can make us think that it’s a sign that they’re going to leave us or if we’re separated for a short time from a friend or partner, we can sometimes feel anxious and even angry as we falsely believe that this means that they don’t want to spend time with us.

It is important to remember that it is not our thoughts that cause us to feel rejected but how our thoughts make us feel. If we feel negative about ourselves, rejection can trigger off a number of other feelings. We can start to feel humiliated, lonely, pathetic, not good enough, useless, and inadequate and a loser. The more we dwell on these feelings, the more pain we’re putting ourselves through and the harder it becomes to put ourselves ‘out there’ again for fear that the same thing will happen next time.

A confident person realises that rejection is simply a part of the risk of living and that, in order to grow spiritually, we all have to take the occasional risk and step outside of our comfort zone. You do not take rejection personally and often view it as a flaw on the other person’s behalf as opposed to feeling bad about ourselves. In other words, you think it is the other person’s loss. I hope you got this. People who reject you are losers.

Although, there is no unique fear of rejection symptoms, these people do exhibit a peculiar behavioural pattern. Such people are not ready to openly communicate and never express their views upon something. More so, if their views happen to be different from the ones they are trying to please they find it hard to say ‘no’. They even keep their personal feelings hidden.

Fear of rejection in relationships often stems from previously failed relationships or rejections. These people are wary of initiating a new relationship or simply asking someone out. They fear that they might be turned down. If they are already in a relationship they might take it too seriously too early, which might drive the other person crazy. These people often associate dangerous words like ‘loser’, ‘incapable’, ‘humiliation’ etc. with rejection. Obviously, this hampers their self-esteem in the end.

People who have a fear of rejection are often manipulated and taken undue advantage of by others, especially those who have a strong impact on them. While the concerned person bends at their will every now and then, these wicked people have a good laugh at the victim’s expense. Unfortunately, no matter how hard a person tries to behave as per the wishes of those who influence him, he is never allowed in their inner circle.

Overcoming fear of rejection is a gradual process that extends over days or even months. The person who faces a fear of rejection needs extensive help from friends and family to come to terms with his true self. He should be taught about how to take things lightly and that rejection is not the end of the world.

One rejection often paves way to a new opportunity, which might turn better than you ever imagined. Running away from your true self cannot bring happiness in your life, instead, the act of moulding yourself as per others’ wishes can leave you miserable and in a state of self pity. You can be truly happy only when you love the way you are. Interestingly, people will also love you only if you come across as a genuine person, true to yourself.

“I take rejection as someone blowing a bugle in my ear to wake me up and get going, rather than retreat.” Sylvester Stallone (American Actor, b.1946)

The reason I sing
is to praise the One who gave His life to be...
the reason I sing!

Ever have one of those days,

When something seems a bit "off"

But you just can't put your finger on it...

Or it seems like all the people around you are grouchy and just want to butt heads...

Sometimes, you just need to take a fresh new look and get a different perspective on things.

Remember, to try your best
To show kindness to others..cuz
It just feels so good!

(Sometimes looking at things
From their perspective
Might help.....)

So, when life gets you down...

Remember to just keep going,
And keep your head above water..

And you'll get by
With a little help from your friends!

To all of my Family and Friends ... Have a nice day.
Go Ahead
Make Someone Smile
GOD BLESS YA!

Just A Nice Email....
Have a good day!

Perry Stone: 31 Days of March - Expect the Unexpected

(Disclaimer: Message via Perry Stone Ministries. Re-posted here only for educational and informative purposes.)

Original Message from Perry Stone:

Recently I shared a special word that the Lord gave to me about "Expecting the Unexpected." The Lord burned in my Spirit that His people need to seek Him for the unseen and unexpected blessings that He can provide through their acts of obedience. Prayerfully consider this word to determine if it is meant for you.

We are receiving prayer requests, offerings and praise reports from many that have acted upon this. The prayer requests we receive are collected in a specially designated prayer chest. We then gather together and come into agreement in prayer for the Lord to answer and move in these situations. This past Thursday evening the prayer requests were gathered and taken up to the prayer barn where the youth and prayer intercessors gathered around and prayed earnestly for the requests. We are receiving marvelous praise reports of healing, financial blessings and spiritual breakthroughs! To God be all glory!

The Holy Spirit instructed, "Take the entire month of March - for 31 days and go into agreement with every person who responds to this word; agreeing that this year the Father in heaven will release a special unexpected blessing upon them and their families." If you would like to participate in this "Expect the Unexpected" act of faith we invite you to submit your prayer request now and pray concerning sowing a seed. We are believing and agreeing with you to expect for the unexpected!

PRAISES:

• We praise God for our wonderful annual prayer walk around the Kodak Theatre (or the Chapter 11 Theatre, as Billy Crystal called it during the Oscars) on the Thurs. night before the Academy Awards. We had the most attendees yet. The prayer was powerful, some groups got to share their faith with a couple of the security guards, and it changed the perspective of some of the new pray-ers. Thanks to all who joined us, thanks to Christina, who organized it and thanks to you who prayed with us remotely!

UPDATE:

• Thanks for praying with us for the Academy Awards. Let’s now pray that the top 10 winners will embrace Jesus, that they will find complete fulfillment and their true identity in Him and that they will be transformed by His unconditional love, hope and salvation:

1.Michel Hazanavicious - Winner of BEST DIRECTOR for "The Artist"
2. Jean Dujardin - Winner of BEST ACTOR for "The Artist"
3. Meryl Streep - Winner of BEST ACTRESS for "The Iron Lady"
4. Christopher Plummer - Winner of BEST SUPPORTING ACTOR for "Beginners"
5. Octavia Spencer - Winner of BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS for "The Help"
6. Woody Allen - Winner of BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY for "Midnight in Paris"
7. Alexander Payne - Winner of BEST ADAPTED SCREENPLAY for "The Descendants
8. Bret McKenzie - Winner of BEST ORIGINAL SONG for "Man or Muppet" from "The Muppets"
9. Robert Richardson - Winner of BEST CINEMATOGRAPHY for "Hugo"
10. Thomas Langmann - Producer of BEST PICTURE, "The Artist"

REQUESTS:

• Pray for "The Cry Hollywood" today, March 15th, when thousands will be converging on the Universal Studios Gibson Amphitheater for a "solemn assembly" of prayer. They describe it as not a conference, not a concert, but a cry from the hearts of men and women who know that God wants to move in the Arts and Entertainment industry. For more info click HERE.

• Please choose one person in a film you love and pray for God to reveal His unconditional love to him/her this month!

• Pray for Rainn Wilson, the actor most known as Dwight in TV’s “The Office,” who is a member of the Baha'i faith. Rainn says his faith “is very important to me. It's very personal." For more info on Rainn as you pray for him, click HERE.

• Pray for the Lord’s presence to be at WonderCom 2012 on March 16-18 at the Anaheim Convention Center. It’s a branch of Comic-Con and thousands of people attend to celebrate the world of comics, graphic novels and those in that world. For more info click HERE.

• Pray for the Christian entertainment audience to grow in wisdom as they learn how to watch, process and respond to films, TV shows, and music. We have to understand both what our entertainment is saying and how to talk about it with others in culturally relevant terms. Pray for wisdom and discernment in how we discuss today’s entertainment with others.

• Please pray for 'Seinfeld' Actor, Daniel Von Bargen, who was hospitalized after shooting himself in the head in a suicide attempt. When we see actors on television or in films, we fail to realize that they are human beings with hurts, wounds and even demons that they’re struggling with. Daniel did recover and we pray that he’ll find hope in Jesus. For more click HERE

• May we pray that all people, both outside and inside Hollywood, can understand God’s view of beauty, versus the media’s view of beauty. We are so superficial in what we value. God looks on the inside of us, not the outside. HPN member Brian S. Chan, author of The Purple Curtain, wrote a challenging article on beauty. As you pray, click HERE to read.

REQUESTS FROM HPN MEMBERS:

• Karen is speaking to a group of Christians in Seattle on Saturday, March 24th and HPN member Marylou asked that we pray for the one-day seminar on “How To Talk About Jesus Without Freaking Out.” Her heart is to bring in a committed group of people who want to reach out to their city and communities. She wants us to pray for the Lord to do miracles in Seattle.

• Please pray for LAFSC alum, Katie, who after working a few years in L.A. for casting directors, went on a missions trip to Africa ..... and found her calling. She now teaches at Film School Africa, a fairly new venture, to help young people with media interests, out of poverty, by preparing them for eligibility to a university level directing program. ~ Fran, Twin Cities

• Would HPN please pray for celebrities? With the deaths of Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston - there's something to be said about mankind worshipping idols. Man was not created to be praised or worshipped - as humans we cannot handle it. As humans we put a lot of pressure on celebs to be "godlike" and there is so much pressure on them. They have so much to live up to, especially if their 'light as a star" has faded....I really believe that is what they go through. That's why I would never ever wish to have any kind of fame, it's a curse and most people do not know how to handle it. ~Howie

UPCOMING EVENTS:

• K.E.Y.S. Hollywood on March 21st - 25th. This is a cutting edge gathering of business leaders to discuss spiritual, vocational and networking growth as Christians in our various marketplaces. Over 100 speakers will talk about their expertise as Christians in business. For more info. click HERE.

• The National Day of Prayer is coming up on THURSDAY, MAY 3rd, 7 -9pm. Our community gathering at CBS Television to pray for the nation, our city and our entertainment industry. The event is co-hosted by Bel Air Pres, Hollywood Pres., Beacon, HPN, The Greenhouse, and The National Prayer Committee. It will be a creative, exciting evening of prayer and praise with other industry professionals. Don't miss it! For more info. click HERE.

Voice of the Martyrs Prayer Update for week of March 16, 2012

VOM-USA Prayer Update for March 16, 2012
The Voice of the Martyrs USA: www.persecution.com

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5–6

Morocco—Secret Christians Arrested
Source: VOM Contacts

Psalm 5:11–12
But let all those rejoice who put their trust in You;
Let them ever shout for joy, because You defend them;
Let those also who love Your name
Be joyful in You.
For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous;
With favor You will surround him as with a shield.

Police have arrested three secret Christians and apparently gained information about other secret believers in the country. On March 1, two young men were visiting with an older believer from another city in a public café when police arrested the three. The two young men were released later that night, but the older believer remains in custody. The families of the two young men were not aware of their sons’ conversion to Christianity, and one of the young men was expelled from his home when his family learned of his Christian faith. In addition to the three arrests, police visited the home of a Christian leader in Rabat, but the family did not let them in. Pray for these two young men as well as the older believer still in custody. Also pray for protection of those whose names have been provided to the police.

Turkey—Church Attacked Amid Increasing Harassment
Source: VOM Contacts

Acts 9:3–5
As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?”
And he said, “Who are You, Lord?”
Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.”

A church in Turkey has experienced increased harassment in recent weeks, possibly as a result of the Quran burnings at an American military base in Afghanistan. On Sunday, March 4, police notified the pastor of Samsun Agape Church that someone had attacked the church building. The attacker kicked in the church door to get inside, where guests from Romania were staying. He also damaged the church sign before being detained by police and a neighbor. Several policemen were injured in a struggle with the attacker. Christians in Turkey are often perceived as traitors and supporters of the West. “These types of incidents discourage new believers and drive them to fear,” the pastor said. Pray for the protection of Turkish believers, and pray that those who persecute Christians might receive the truth in miraculous ways.

Kurdistan—Christian Teacher Killed by Student
Source: VOM Contacts, Kurdistan News Agency

Jeremiah 29:7
And seek the peace of the city where I have caused you to be carried away captive, and pray to the Lord for it; for in its peace you will have peace.

A student at a private Christian school in Kurdistan shot to death his American teacher before killing himself. The incident has prompted the Ministry of Education to review the programs of private schools in the region. Bayar Sarwar, 18, shot 33-year-old American gym teacher Jeremiah Small four times on March 1 as he prayed before class. Although the motive for the shooting is unclear, the Kurdistan Teachers Union believes the student was agitated by the teacher’s promotion of Christianity. Without elaborating, police said only that there was some kind of issue between the student and teacher. Jeremiah Small was from Washington state. He was buried March 6, 2012, in Kurdistan. Please pray for his family and for peace in Kurdistan.

Click on each tract below to read and purchase from our webstore. Thank you for partnering with us to share Christ to those who are lost.

What is Easter All About?
People often get confused over the real meaning of Easter. It's not about bunnies, baskets or brightly colored eggs. It's about Jesus Christ, and what He went through on our behalf.

So Who is This Jesus, Anyway?
Jesus is one of the most controversial figures in history. If you are seeking the truth, the beginning point of your search should be on the person of Jesus.

Because He Lives
As Bill and Gloria Gaither have expressed in their song, Because He Lives., "An empty grave is there to prove our Savior lives." The Bible says "....because I live, ye shall live also." John 14:19

Stop ObamaCare and the Abortion Pill Mandate

Our fight against pro-abortion ObamaCare and President Obama’s abortion pill mandate has escalated in the last 24 hours.

Today, we are filing our lawsuit in federal court against the mandate and new federal regulations have just been released clearly putting taxpayer funding of abortion into law. We urgently need your support to stop ObamaCare and defend religious liberty.

Please make your urgent, tax-deductible donation to the ACLJ today.

If you make a donation today, your gift will be matched-dollar-for by a group of our donors.

Thank you for your past support, and thank you for standing with the ACLJ.

Jordan Sekulow
ACLJ Executive Director

P.S. We are continuing our fight for Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani. Our attorneys and I are working with the Vice President of Brazil, leveraging Brazil’s diplomatic relations with Iran; in addition, we are in Geneva at the U.N. Human Rights Council, urging for Youcef’s release.
