This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'
It's obvious to me that we are living in the very last days of the Church Age. That's why it's important for every Christian to learn how to live by faith -- not just in theory, but in practice... everyday, rubber-meets-the-road practice.
Few subjects in the Bible are more important for us to understand than faith.
I think it would be safe to say that many believers have no idea how truly important real faith is to their walk with Christ. In fact, you cannot have a walk with Christ without faith!
The issue of faith pervades every aspect of our relationship with God and our service for Him. Genuine faith is the source of our strength, our provision, our courage, our guidance, and our victory over the world system, the flesh, and the Devil. Faith is the only thing that can sustain us in the trials and persecutions predicted for the last days. It's imperative that we understand exactly what faith is, how we get it, and how it grows.
For the Christian, no other pursuit is as urgent as the quest for faith. This has always been true, but in the light of the prophetic signs that herald the soon coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the inevitable perilous times that will precede it, it's even more urgent today.
This week, I'm going to discuss "The Many Facets of Faith." This special presentation will offer insights into this most important part of the believer's life that perhaps you haven't considered. I may even suggest some things you did not know!
I'm going to answer questions about what faith actually is. I'll discuss the relationship between faith and grace. I'll even tackle the thorny subject of faith versus works. Even if you know all of this, it's healthy to occasionally stop and consider the wonder of God's grace and provision for our lives. It also helps us to review our current attitudes and ask God to revive in us a fresh appreciation of His gift to us -- the gift of faith.
Join me this week to consider "The Many Facets of Faith."
Speaking of faith, I want to thank many of you for your prayer and concern in response to my recent comment regarding my health. As I deal with these issues -- which many of you have also encountered -- I ask for your continued prayer and intercession on my behalf. But don't worry, I have no plans to leave the desk of "The Hal Lindsey Report" until the trumpet sounds! And with your help and agreement, we'll all go up together!
PROGRAMMING NOTE: Remember, "The Hal Lindsey Report" can now be seen on Inspiration Network in its new time slot, Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Eastern, 12:30 p.m. Central, 11:30 a.m. Mountain, and 10:30 a.m. Pacific.

Does Hebrews 6:4-6 mean we can lose our salvation?
Hebrews 6:4-6 states, “For it is impossible for those who were once
enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become
partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and
the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to
repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and
put Him to an open shame.” This is one of the Bible’s most difficult
passages to interpret, but one thing is clear—it does not teach that we
can lose our salvation. There are two valid ways of looking at these
verses:
One interpretation holds that this passage is written not about Christians but about unbelievers who are convinced of the basic truths of the gospel but who have not placed their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior. They are intellectually persuaded but spiritually uncommitted.
According to this interpretation, the phrase “once enlightened” (verse 4) refers to some level of instruction in biblical truth. However, understanding the words of scripture is not the same as being regenerated by the Holy Spirit. For example, John 1:9 describes Jesus, the “true Light,” giving light “to every man”; but this cannot mean the light of salvation, because not every man is saved. Through God’s sovereign power, every man has enough light to be held responsible. This light either leads to the complete acceptance of Jesus Christ or produces condemnation in those who reject such light. The people described in Hebrews 6:4-6 are of the latter group—unbelievers who have been exposed to God’s redemptive truth and perhaps have made a profession of faith, but have not exercised genuine saving faith.
This interpretation also sees the phrase “tasted the heavenly gift” (Hebrews 6:9) as referring to a momentary experience, akin to Jesus’ “tasting” death (Hebrews 2:9). This brief experience with the heavenly gift is not seen as equivalent to salvation; rather, it is likened to the second and third soils in Jesus’ parable (Matthew 13:3-23), which describes people who receive the truth of the gospel but are not truly saved.
Finally, this interpretation sees the “falling away” (Hebrews 6:6) as a reference to those who have tasted the truth but, not having come all the way to faith, fall away from even the revelation they have been given. The tasting of truth is not enough to keep them from falling away from it. They must come all the way to Christ in complete repentance and faith; otherwise, they in effect re-crucify Christ and treat Him contemptuously. Those who sin against Christ in such a way have no hope of restoration or forgiveness because they reject Him with full knowledge and conscious experience. They have concluded that Jesus should have been crucified, and they stand with His enemies. It is impossible to renew such to repentance.
The other interpretation holds that this passage is written about Christians, and that the phrases “partakers of the Holy Ghost,” “enlightened,” and “tasted of the heavenly gift” are all descriptions of true believers.
According to this interpretation, the key word in the passage is if (verse 6). The writer of Hebrews is setting up a hypothetical statement: “IF a Christian were to fall away . . .” The point being made is that it would be impossible (IF a Christian falls away) to renew salvation. That’s because Christ died once for sin (Hebrews 9:28), and if His sacrifice is insufficient, then there’s no hope at all.
The passage, therefore, presents an argument based on a false premise (that a true Christian can fall away) and follows it to its senseless conclusion (that Jesus would have to be sacrificed again and again). The absurdity of the conclusion points up the impossibility of the original assumption. This reasoning is called reductio ad absurdum, in which a premise is disproved by showing that it logically leads to an absurdity.
Both of these interpretations support the security of the believer in Christ. The first interpretation presents unbelievers rejecting Christ and thereby losing their chance of salvation; the second interpretation presents the very idea of believers losing salvation as impossible. Many scriptures make it abundantly clear that salvation is eternal (John 10:27-29; Romans 8:35, 38-39; Philippians 1:6; 1 Peter 1:4-5), and Hebrews 6:4-6 confirms that doctrine.

The Teacher Protection Academic Freedom Act
Tennessee’s new law guarantees teachers’ rights to teach the controversies in science.
by Dr. Elizabeth Mitchell, AiG–U.S.
April 12, 2012
Thanks to Tennessee legislators who wish to protect academic freedom and improve the science education of their constituents’ children in public schools, Tennessee teachers will soon have legal protection to teach students about genuine scientific controversies. With strong bipartisan support, the bill passed by a three-to-one margin and should take effect on April 20.

Psalm 38:12
Those also who seek my life lay snares for me;
Those who seek my hurt speak of destruction,
And plan deception all the day long.
An Algerian Christian sentenced to five years in prison for “shaking the faith” of Muslims is awaiting a decision on his appeal. “Kadar,” who regularly shares his faith with Muslims in the city of Oran, discussed Christianity with a man at an outdoor food court last May and gave the man a Christian CD. But the man got angry and accused Kadar of insulting Muhammad. Police arrested Kadar and discovered a large quantity of Christian materials in his apartment. After Kadar was convicted of shaking the faith of a Muslim, the judge assessed the maximum sentence of five years in prison even though the prosecutor had recommended a lesser sentence. Kadar is now out on bail awaiting the decision on his appeal. VOM is currently monitoring four other legal cases against Christians in Algeria. Pray that the Lord will rescue these believers from the snares of their enemies.

Psalm 86:2
Preserve my life, for I am holy;
You are my God;
Save Your servant who trusts in You!
Family members of prominent human rights lawyer Gao Zhisheng visited him recently in prison. Gao’s older brother and father-in-law met with him on March 24 at the Saya prison in Xinjiang province. His family had not seen him since his abduction by police in April 2010, and his whereabouts had been unknown until this year. His brother and father-in-law spoke with him through a glass partition and reported that he looked fine. Gao broke into tears when his father-in-law told him, “My health is greatly improved now that I have seen you.” Gao was sentenced to five years’ probation on Dec. 22, 2006, for subversion. On Dec. 16, 2011, just days before his probation was to expire, the government announced that Gao would be sentenced to three more years in prison. Praise God that Gao is alive and well; continue to pray for his family, especially his wife and two children.

John 7:36–38
What is this thing that He said, ‘You will seek Me and not find Me, and where I am you cannot come’?”
On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”
Hindu extremists forced their way into a prayer meeting in Kalkaji, New Delhi, on March 12, beating the pastor and threatening other believers. Pastor Jagdish Dey was leading a small prayer meeting at a church member’s house when Hindu radicals gathered at the door of the home and began taking pictures. As the meeting ended, the extremists forced their way inside the home and dragged Pastor Dey out into the street, where 30 armed extremists were waiting to beat him. When police arrived, they took Pastor Dey into custody. The Hindus accused the Christians of desecrating idols and making insulting remarks about their gods and goddesses. Under pressure from the extremists, police persuaded Pastor Dey to promise that he would stop the prayer meetings. The extremists then banned the Christians from using the public water pump and pressured their landlords to evict them. Pray that the Lord will refresh these believers with his living water.

Today’s Sure Word: God has blessed me
The Journey to Extreme Greatness: The Death of a Legend. Vol. 5
7 These are the days of the years of Abraham’s life, 175 years. 8Abraham breathed his last and died in a good old age, an old man and full of years, and was gathered to his people. Genesis 25 (ESV)
Amazingly we have seen that Abraham delayed for twenty four years wanting God to listen to him rather than him listening to God. We make these mistakes ourselves. “Faith makes all things possible.... love makes all things easy.” All God need from you is your faith. He does not want you to exhibit a mango seed kind faith but he wants you to exercise a mustard seed kind of faith. He is saying that all you need to move the highest mountain is that very small insignificant faith.
When Abraham believed God, it was accounted unto him for righteousness. Until Abraham believed God he was walking in sight and not in faith. Don’t allow your condition and the situations in your life to define who you are or to determine your relationship with God. I long made up my mind to be allegiant to God no matter what. Even if things refused to work for me, it is too late for me not to believe God and walk by faith.
Genesis 24:1 “And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the LORD had blessed Abraham in all things.” This is a man that once missed the mark. Here we are told that he was well stricken in age and was actually blessed in all things. I am blessed in all things. You are blessed in all things. You will agree with me that you still struggle for some things. Here the manifestation of the blessings were radiating throughout the life of Abraham. This is what we are all seeking for.
The blessings of the Lord make you rich without adding sorrow. Despite the fact that Abraham was rich and blessed in all things, we see that he takes decisive and responsible action to make those blessings materialise in his life. He commissioned his servant to go forth and look out for a quality wife for his son, Isaac. He did not fold his hands to say that he has been blessed with all things. He went out and claimed all things that were his through being blessed.
You have been waiting, wishing and hoping for too long. You have so depended on a second opinion, neglecting the word of God. Now is the time for you to stand up and take responsibility for your life. The word will not work for you if you do not act by faith. Word without action is dead. Faith without action is dead. It does not matter the number of positive affirmation you make, if you will not act, you will not succeed.
What you believe is irrelevant if you act against your believe. What you believe and act upon determines who you are. Your belief is what generates your motive. Your motive enables you to act. Your action produces the result. Until you believe and act accordingly there will be no result in your life. As you belief God and act in his word, you are accounted as righteous.
Being born again and filled with the Holy Spirit does not make you righteous. Abraham believed God and acted, it was accounted unto him for righteousness. In your Bible acted was not included. I am expressing the interpretation of what it means to believe. When you believe, you act in faith and it is the action of faith that materialises your believe into reality. Until you act in faith, you cannot please God.
Mark 11:24 “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” What you say is the action you took as you believe. There must be a corresponding action to your believe. We have made so much confession that is hanging on the air waiting for us to act. We are not acting hence we are not walking by faith. We think God is a magician from the way we confess the word without the same word having a lasting effect on us.
Reading the achievement of Abraham made me realise that faith works by all means. This was a man that has no confidence in the physical appearance of his body and of that of his wife. He gave up hope some times and we are told that he hoped against the hope he gave up. The situation he was in was so hopeless, it makes no sense and yet he refused to give up. He created hope from the word of God and used the hope in the word to replace the lost hope in his life.
Things are not working for your favour. The conditions around you are so tense and severe and the rules of man have ruled you out. There is no way under the government rule that you will be qualify. People have started advising you what to do but you heard the word giving you clear and opposite instructions that made no sense. I advise you to hang on and hold unto the word. He is saying to you today that all things are working for your own favour. What I understand here is that the good, the bad and the ugly situation you facing at this point in time is actually working for your own good.
“Faith isn’t faith until it’s all you’re holding on to.” Faith Quote

BE A VOICE For Persecuted Christians
Information from Voice of the Martyrs:
Since we launched the Be-A-Voice Network two years ago, thousands of people have agreed to BE A VOICE for persecuted Christians in their church, small group or online sphere of influence. BE-A-VOICE members are speaking up on behalf of our persecuted brothers and sisters, calling others to pray and take other action on behalf of the persecuted church. You too can join this amazing network of believers.
Here's what some BE-A-VOICE members are saying:
"I am so inspired by your work, and the people in so many countries that so fervently believe in Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Praying for them and writing letters to them is the least I can do. May God continue to encourage, sustain, and protect these brothers and sisters in the Lord!"
—Terry C.
"I so appreciate the work that you do. Thank you for making me aware of my fellow Believers out there, who are being persecuted for their faith in Christ. I am now praying daily for them and writing encouraging letters. My husband and I decided to send out Christmas cards and letters to some of our persecuted Brothers and Sisters this year with our photo. We are putting up a map and marking their names on their countries and praying for them."

Some great news from Easter Sunday!
April 10, 2012
I wanted to share what I thought was an incredible weekend of good news for Christians in America. Not only was it Easter Sunday when millions of Americans celebrated the resurrection of Jesus Christ – that alone made the day special –but then there were at least four national stories which I believe brought glory to the Lord and are worth pointing out.
#1. Pastor Rick Warren did an outstanding job fielding questions from reporter Jake Tapper on ABC’s This Week program on Sunday. Tapper asked Warren some difficult questions – some “gotcha” questions -- which he handled as well as any interview I have seen. At one point Tapper asked Warren whether he believes only those who put their faith in Jesus will reach heaven. "I do believe that. And I believe that because Jesus said it," Warren said. "Jesus said, 'I am the way.' He didn't say 'I'm one of the ways.' He said, 'I am the way, I am the truth, and I am the life.' I'm betting my life that Jesus wasn't a liar." You can watch the full interview here.
#2. Football star Tim Tebow preached to over 15,000 people in Texas Easter morning. He talked about his faith in Christ and also the need for America to return to the God of our fathers. ''First and foremost is what this country was based on: one nation under God," Tebow said to applause. God has truly given this young man a huge platform and the maturity to handle the attention. Please continue to pray for Tim.
#3. Bubba Watson won The Masters - the most prestigious tournament in professional golf on Sunday as millions of golf fans and non golf fans alike watched on television around the world. Watson hit what some observers called a “miracle” shot to set up his win. Watson is an outspoken Christian golfer and he uses his Twitter account - along with his platform as one of the PGA Tour’s magnetic personalities - to share about his faith in Christ. “For me, it’s just showing the Light,” the 33-year-old said. “There’s people who want to put down Christians. I try to tell them Jesus loves you. It’s just a way to be strong in my faith.”
#4. Hobby Lobby once again ran a full page ad in newspapers across the country celebrating Easter. There is nothing commercial about the ad, it’s all about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Check it out here. AFA commends Hobby Lobby for continuing to bring glory to the Lord with these annual full page ads.
It’s rare we have so much good news to share, all happening on one day, Easter Sunday. But I just wanted to pause and thank God for this. For more information on what it means to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ please visit the website www.knowhim.afr.net.

Letter from Joni Lamb: April 2012
Letter from Joni Lamb (of Daystar Christian television: April 2012
http://www.daystar.com/
One thing I am passionate about is my love for Israel. I wanted to honor the Jewish people by producing a series on the Holocaust. When I think about the six million Jews that were murdered and the multitudes who were persecuted during the Holocaust, I can just imagine the heart of God being broken. So last July we dedicated one week of Joni shows to a series on the Holocaust. Since April 19th is Holocaust Remembrance Day, we will rebroadcast this series April 16th – April 20th.
It has been 67 years since the Holocaust but for survivors and children of survivors it remains an ever-present reality. In this series we honor the courage of those who experienced the Holocaust. You will hear from Holocaust survivor Irene Zisblatt. Her family was murdered, and she endured horrific treatment in a Nazi concentration camp. You will also hear from Peter Loth who was born in a Nazi concentration camp. We will show you historic footage and photos, and you will hear testimonies of survivors and children of survivors. Their stories of healing and forgiveness will leave an indelible impression, and you will be encouraged to forgive others. You will truly be touched by this series. So on Holocaust Remembrance Day we will honor those who fought, those who suffered and those who died. We love the Jewish people. We love Israel.

Hal Lindsey Report (4-13-12): The End of this Age, Unfulfilled Prophecies?, the Trigger, the Age of Grace, the End of this Age
Thanks to OmniChristianVids3 for uploading the video to YouTube.
(Disclaimer: I do not own this information. Video and information from Hal Lindsey Media Ministries and weekly newsletter. Reposted here for educational purposes only.)
This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'
Syria, North Korea, Indonesia, Egypt, Russia, Iran, Pakistan, Turkey, China, Israel.... The news headlines of this week alone put flesh on the bones of the predictions of the ancient prophets.
The only way I can put some of these developments into the proper perspective is to say that we are seeing end-times prophecy literally exploding before our eyes. National alignments and strategic threats thought almost impossible only a short time ago are now reality.
That starkly signals one thing to me: the Rapture of the Church is getting closer with each day that passes!
But, America is filled with churches and pastors who haven't preached, taught, or thought about the Rapture in years. In fact, we'd probably be surprised at how many ministers don't even believe that Christ will return to snatch away His true believers in a blinding flash.
This week, I'll answer some of the questions that many of you have about the timing and order of events leading up to the Rapture of the Church, then to that time of terrible tribulation on the earth. We'll discuss which prophecies, if any, remain to be fulfilled before these events can occur. We'll also look at the Age of Grace. What is it and when will it end? We'll discuss exactly what will trigger the end of this current Age. That moment is known only to the Father. Even Jesus in his human nature said He didn't know the hour or the day of that event. This Age began with a mystery and a miracle and will end with a mystery and a miracle.
I believe we live in the most exciting time in history. And maybe one of the scariest! That's why it's urgent that you make certain your family, your friends, your neighbors, and your co-workers have received the gift of pardon that Jesus makes available to them. The events I discuss this week could happen at any moment, even today. You do not want them to be on this earth after the Body of Christ departs! Get ready!
PROGRAMMING NOTE: Remember, "The Hal Lindsey Report" can be seen on Inspiration Network in its new time slot, Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Eastern, 12:30 p.m. Central, 11:30 a.m. Mountain, and 10:30 a.m. Pacific.
