World Cup Witnessing

Countless Christians have gone to the World Cup Soccer Tournament in South Africa to share the gospel with the millions gathered there. Please keep the laborers in prayer, as they reach out to the lost. The World Cup concludes July 11.

Tim C. wrote to us and sent in the picture below saying: "This young man fell to the pavement and surrendered his life to Christ! His name is Prince. It was the most broken and contrite thing I have ever witnessed!"

tired of the doubled-standard and hypocrisy of certain peoples views in politics

ok i'm getting really tired of this now, why is it when democrats make federal laws it's "wrong" and "unconstitutional" and "takes away from state's rights," but when republicans make federal laws suddenly all of those things that democrats are condemned for are either ignored or even applauded, that is hypocrisy and a double-standard, where is equality? where is truth? it's goes the same way with democrats, why is it when republicans make federal laws it's just so "wrong" and "unfair" and "imposing" and against the "people's wishes"; total baloney, what a joke if i ever heard one, get real; you're pulling the same thing that republicans pull on you when they're not the majority; the truth is that everyone picks and pulls at everyone else as long as they themselves are the minority, but as soon as they become the majority suddenly there is silence, hmm, hypocrisy at its worse; i'm not a member of any political party, i don't care about parties, i care about truth and what's right, that's all i care about

All The Troubles I've Seen

I'm so messed up because I've had to go through a mess my whole life. I can't even explain everything that has happened to me in my life or I could write you a book. But, I am so sick and tired of having to deal with everyone. I always have to be an adult from the time I was very young. A person can only take so much, especially a child. When I was 16 it finally became all too much and I completely broke down. I wanted to just die, but I couldn't. I developed bipolar disorder, panic/anxiety disorder and agoraphobia. It made me breakdown and revert to feeling emotionally like a little child. I needed protection, comfort, guidance. I couldn't handle life. I couldn't live in society. I was all alone, trapped in my house for 5 years. I had lost faith in God. Eventually I turned back to Him and I was given faith to believe and to overcome a lot of my struggles. I began to get stronger. I overcame depression and anxiety pretty much. I was a very different person in terms of that. Then a few years went by, but I'm still stuck in this doldrum life where I feel like I still wasn't ready to break away in my own life apart from my family. I felt like why should I have to, doesn't matter. Well, it doesn't matter that much. And I can live independently from them, I just didn't see any point because I liked it and it saved money. I didn't have much in the way of a job, couldn't hardly make money, so that is just how it was. I figured I would go back to school. I had gotten my GED already, had job experience eventually. I wanted to go to college like I had planned several years before as a teenager. At this point I'm in my early 20's. I decided to go back to school. I was going to maybe move to Japan with my brother. We would start a life there. I don't know everything, but we had some plans. But, then I met this guy on the Internet/Facebook. My life changed a lot after that. The main problem is that he was from a different country, lived in a different country thousands of miles away. So, already there was that difficulty. But, we found that we really got on with each other and it very quickly turned into love. We are both young. At first everything seemed great, then I started to see a side to him coming out, a very bad side. It was fear and anger. I started to realize that he had a lot of baggage from the past as well, but he obviously had a lot of struggles psychologically as well. It became very hard after that. Sometimes he was nice, other times he was angry, frustrated. He often took it out on me, but breaking up with me or arguing with me, calling me bad names. It really started to mess with me. I would always forgive him and because I loved him and believed he loved me, and because I believed in being loyal, I always stayed with him. I thought, maybe he's just scared of commitment. Maybe he's just in a way testing me, see if I will stand by him. Etc. Etc. All these different things I started to think. As time went on, in a way he seemed like he was getting a bit better over time, but he never really changed. He broke up with me a million times and always had the same issues. I did things for him that I never thought I would do. I started to change. I became much more emotional, upset, stressed a lot of the time. The way he was with me really really messed with me. I started to think that I was relapsing into being bipolar again or the anxiety attacks. Not sure the difference really. But, I was getting so hurt and betrayed so often that I just couldn't bare it. I would find myself wondering, why am I with this guy. Why do I let myself keep going through this abuse, this insanity? It was because I truly loved him and because I believed that he truly loved me, and just needed help and support. And because the thought of losing him seemed to hurt me more than being with him. So, I always stayed with him. I would always talk to him, tell him how wrong he was, that he needed to change, that I can't take this, I can't keep going through this. He would apologize, he would talk like he's willing to change. He would maybe get better for a little while, but he would always end up going back to the same old thing, "same old same old." One of the crazy things about it is that he would always somehow make himself out to be the victim of it all. He would always somehow find a way to blame me. He would always just see my reaction to his misbehavior. He never got it that the reason why I was so upset isn't because I'm just like it, but because of how he treated me. It's like he didn't want to come to terms with that. He just always wanted to blame me instead of changing his bad ways. He always wanted me to accept his misbehavior and "be understanding, supportive" of him. Like, as if I never was. He always found a way to insult me. Nothing I did was ever good enough, loving enough, strong enough, smart enough. I was always a failure in his eyes. But, I knew that it wasn't really me that had the problems. Yes, I could have handled some things better, yes I could have reacted differently at times. But, the main problem was him, not me. But, nothing ever changed with him. Always always the same thing over and over again. Whatever disorder, things he's been through in his life doesn't give him the right to mistreat me. It makes it more understandable because of those things, but never in the right. I just couldn't take it anymore. I always loved him, always stood by him through thick and thin. But, he wouldn't stop hurting me. I couldn't live in that anymore. It broke my heart too many times I cannot count anymore. It makes me sad and so disappointed that it would come to that. Things could have been great, could have been happy. But, he had too many issues and he kept pushing me away. But, I know that no matter what I've been through in my life, God has always been there for me. I don't know why or understand everything that's happened to me in my life. When did God make things happen, when was is that something happened because of my actions? I don't know everything. But, I have learnt already enough in my life that no matter what happens I am blessed. I have learnt that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and wiser, as long as you get through it and overcome. And that no matter what happens, God is always there, even when it doesn't seem like it. And He he listens and cares about you, even when it doesn't seem like it. It is also my belief that those who are hit the hardest in life that maybe it's because the devil knows that there is something great in them, they have a lot of potential for good in this life, and the devil wants to stop it. I don't know if that's true in every case. I know some people of God, strong believers and followers that seem to have fairly easy-going lives which I don't understand. But, there are others strong in the Lord as well that can have very difficult lives, but somehow manage to get through it and it makes them stronger and wiser because of it. I don't understand these two different kind of lives with people that all are strong believers and followers of God, but that's what it seems like to me. I don't understand everything, but I keep trusting in God and keep believing that everything I've gone through and will go through has a very special purpose. I feel as though I'm destined for great and special things. Maybe I won't even see it in this lifetime, maybe I won't truly see the results of it until I die and go to Heaven. I don't really know. But, that is my belief and my hope.

INDIA — Christian Forcibly “Reconverted” to Hinduism — VOM Canada / Asia News

Matthew 5:13–16
“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt loses its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is then good for nothing but to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men. “You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do they light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.

On June 8, 19-year-old Bhakta Bivar was beaten, tortured and forced to participate in a ceremony “reconverting” him to Hinduism, according to VOM Canada and Asia News. Six Hindu extremists reportedly stormed Bhakta’s home in Nuapada district, Orissa state, India, intending to kill him and his parents. When the attackers realized Bhakta’s parents were not home, they beat him and dragged him to the local Hindu temple, where he was forcibly “reconverted” to Hinduism. The next day, police arrested five of the assailants, who were charged and then released. Pray that Bhakta will not be fearful but will turn to the Lord for his daily strength. Pray that the persecution he has faced will embolden him to witness to his Hindu neighbors. Ask God to bring peace to India’s Orissa state.

SOMALIA — Christian Convert Abused by Family — Compass Direct News

Psalm 91:1–5
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler[a] And from the perilous pestilence. He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day,

A 17-year-old girl in the Gedo Region of Somalia was severely beaten by her family recently after they discovered she had converted to Christianity, according to Compass Direct News. Nurta Mohamed Farah, 17, was later taken to a doctor, who prescribed medication for a “mental illness.” When she refused to abandon her Christian faith, her family forced her to take the medication. Nurta’s family has read Islamic scripture to her twice a week since May 10, when they learned of her conversion. Somalis traditionally believe that the Quran cures the sick — especially the mentally ill. Nurta has been shackled to a tree during the day and held in a small, dark room at night, according to Compass. “There is little the community can do about her condition, which is very bad,” a Christian source told Compass. “I have advised our community leader to keep monitoring her condition but not to meddle for their own safety. … We need prayers and human advocacy for such inhuman acts, and for freedom of religion for the Somali people.” Pray that Nurta will be encouraged and emboldened as she suffers for her faith. Pray that her steadfast commitment to Christ will soften the hearts of her parents so that they, too, will come to know him.

CHINA — Pastor Released on Bail — China Aid Association

Psalm 23:1–5
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness For His name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil; My cup runs over.

On June 13, Pastor Wang Dao was released on bail after being held for more than a month on charges of “gathering a mob to disrupt the public order,” according to China Aid Association. Pastor Wang was arrested in China’s Guangdong Province in early May. Pastor Wang, a leader of the Liangren Church, has reportedly been threatened with exile and denied the right to meet with his lawyers. He now faces new charges of “hindering the administration of credit cards.” Pastor Wang insists the criminal charges were brought against him because of his Christian faith. Pastor Wang’s house church has also faced unjust treatment from authorities, according to China Aid. Church members have reportedly been locked out of their rented building, ordered to disband from a peaceful meeting in a park and evicted from another rented building. Upon his release, Pastor Wang expressed thanks to all those in his Christian family who have prayed for and supported him. Pray that the charges against Pastor Wang will be dropped and that he and members of his church will stand firm in their faith in Christ.

Dad's Day Is This Sunday

by Dr. Charles F. Stanley

Motivating our children to pursue the path of godliness isn’t always easy, but the rewards are great. It involves several things including commitment to love God with our entire heart. We should teach our children about His loving care.

The path of godliness for our children also involves sacrifice. We should give up those pleasures and habits that interfere with raising godly sons and daughters.

We also need to show our children courage. We need to admit we’re wrong and ask for forgiveness when we make mistakes. Our family, who already know our weaknesses, will see Christ’s power as we adjust our behavior.

The path of godliness also involves perseverance. We should show our children how to stay the course and not lose heart. It takes time for children to develop godly habits.

Prayer is another important aspect of godly parenting. Pray that your children will grow in understanding the Lord’s character, plans, and purposes, and His love. Faithfully practice the spiritual disciplines of prayer and Bible study.

The path of godliness for our children means we must learn to live by faith. We should trust in God and please Him. Recognize our bodies are a temple of the Holy Spirit.

We should return to the Lord a portion of our children’s time, talents, and treasure. And, we should speak to others about Jesus.

Give your children the gift of a godly role model. As they follow in your footsteps, you’ll experience the joy of watching them grow in holiness.

INDIA — Some Orissa Christians Still Homeless — VOM Contacts

Some Christians who were displaced during the 2008 riots in Orissa state are still homeless, according to VOM contacts in India. During the riots, 90 were killed and 50,000 believers were displaced. VOM contacts say the Christians who are still homeless will be adversely affected by the upcoming monsoon season. Pray that homes will become available to these displaced Christians. Ask God to encourage and protect believers who have endured hardship since the attacks.

CHINA — Police Interrogate Christian Attorney — China Aid Association

On May 31, Christian human rights attorney Li Heping was arrested in Beijing and taken to Beipingfang Village Police Station for interrogation, according to China Aid Association. Li Heping, who in the past has been under heavy police surveillance, was arrested as he left the home of fellow attorney Tang Jitian. Police took Li Heping to the police station for interrogation and released him later that night. The police claim they arrested Li Heping on suspicion of burglary, but their intentions were clearly to gain information on Tang Jitian’s whereabouts. On April 12, the government revoked the lawyer’s licenses of Tang Jitian and his friend Liu Wei, supposedly for causing a disturbance in the courtroom. The arrest and interrogation of Li Heping on “suspicion of burglary” is further evidence of how the Chinese government intimidates human rights attorneys. Pray that God will protect and encourage Li Heping and Tang Jitian. Praise God for the faithfulness of believers in China who continue to live out their faith in the midst of persecution.

TURKEY — Update: Believers Accused of “Insulting Turkishness” — Compass Direct News

On May 25, Turkish Christians Hakan Tastan and Turan Topal appeared in court for their 11th hearing on charges of “insulting Turkishness” by allegedly trying to convert others to Christianity, according to Compass Direct News. The hearing lasted only a few minutes. Despite the lack of evidence against the men, the Silivri Criminal Court set another hearing for Oct. 14. Prosecutors have yet to present any concrete evidence for the charges, and Hakan and Turan hope the trial concludes by the end of the year. “From the beginning, the charges against us have been filled with contradictions,” Turan said. “But we are entirely innocent of all these charges, so of course we expect a complete acquittal.” Thank the Lord for the bold faith of these two believers. Pray that God will be their strength and guide and that the charges against them will be dropped.

AFGHANISTAN — Christian Aid Groups Suspended — The New York Times

On May 31, the Afghanistan government suspended two Christian relief organizations over suspicions that they converted Afghans to Christianity. Proselytizing and converting from Islam to Christianity are crimes in Afghanistan. According to a New York Times report, an Afghan television station, Noorin TV, mentioned the two Christian organizations in a report that showed Westerners baptizing Afghans, and Afghans praying at private prayer meetings. However, Noorin TV later confirmed that it had no evidence linking the organizations to the baptisms or prayer meetings. Mohammed Sediq Amarkhiel, a spokesman for the government agency that regulates aid groups in Afghanistan, told The New York Times that there was no evidence against the Christian aid groups. He said the groups were suspended because television reports “raised suspicions” and “made people very emotional and angry.” Amarkhiel said the government will further investigate the groups’ activities. “If they are really involved in proselytizing Afghan people for Christianity, then definitely these people will be introduced to the judicial authorities,” Amarkhiel said. The report by Noorin TV led to a protest by Kabul University students and has also fueled anti-Christian sentiment within the Afghan government. According to the Associated Press (AP), the deputy secretary of the Afghan Parliament has called for the execution of Afghan Christians. The AP report quotes the deputy secretary as saying, “Those Afghans that appeared on this video film should be executed in public. The house should order the attorney general and the National Department of Security to arrest these Afghans and execute them.” Pray for believers as they share the gospel in this very difficult region. Pray that their testimony will draw nonbelievers into fellowship with Christ.

IRAQ — Christian Killed in Kirkuk — VOM Canada

On June 7, a Christian businessman was shot to death in front of his home in Kirkuk, Iraq, according to VOM Canada. Those who witnessed the murder of 34-year-old Hani Salim Wadi described it as a “targeted killing.” Several Christians in Kirkuk and Mosul have been attacked in recent months, and Christians in Iraq have expressed fear of renewed violence. Chaldean Archbishop Emil Nona said, “We are seeing another, the umpteenth, attack against Christians. The violence continues without relief.” Pray for Hani Salim Wadi’s wife, daughter and extended family as they mourn their loss. Ask God to guard the hearts of Iraqi Christians against fear so they can continue serving him with boldness.

John Lennon - Woman

Woman I can hardly express,
My mixed emotion at my thoughtlessness,
After all I'm forever in your debt,
And woman I will try express,
My inner feelings and thankfullness,
For showing me the meaning of succsess,
oooh well, well,
oooh well, well,

Woman I know you understand
The little child inside the man,
Please remember my life is in your hands,
And woman hold me close to your heart,
However, distant don't keep us apart,
After all it is written in the stars,
oooh well, well,
oooh well, well,

Woman please let me explain,
I never mean(t) to cause you sorrow or pain,
So let me tell you again and again and again,
I love you (yeah, yeah) now and forever,
I love you (yeah, yeah) now and forever,
I love you (yeah, yeah) now and forever,
I love you (yeah, yeah)...
this is good because believers of God must know and put God #1 in our lives, and to come to Him firstly in things; this is something that I learnt a long time ago when I decided to surrender myself to God, you realize that when you take away everything all you have is just u and God; your family can't save you in the afterlife, if u are going to hell your family can't do anything about it and no one can, only God can because only He has the power to save you; nothing can save you in this life or the next but God; God is our Creator and Redeemer, and He is above everything, therefore He needs and wants to be #1 in our lives and in our heart, and everything needs to revolve around God because at the end of the day it does anyway only you might be too closed off from it to see it and someday people will realize, God says that He tolerates no rivals (gods, idols, etc.) it says in the Bible that in the end everyone will bow their knees to God and shall acknowledge Him and praise Him, might as well do it now before it's too late, at the end of the day you're either with God or against Him, i choose to be with Him on His side not the devil's side, not the side of my selfishness of ignoring the reality of God; Joshua in the Bible said "choose this day whom you will serve, as for me and my house we will serve the Lord"

"Indeed, we, too, were once stupid, disobedient, and misled. We were slaves to many kinds of lusts and pleasures. We were mean and jealous. We were hated, and we hated each other. When God our Savior revealed His kindness and love, He saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. Because of His grace He declared us righteous and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life. This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone." Titus 3:3-8

spending quiet time with God; reflecting, discerning, renewing strength; oh if everything was easy, but alas it is not; these are the kind of moments that really push me to the brinking point; if only I just trust Him to work it all out, what is His will in situation, sometimes I really don't know and it makes it harder because then there's confusion on top of an already trying situation where I have to make a decision about something; but I Praise God who always gets me through somehow and promises Romans 8:28 my lean-on verse in life

6/11/10

In Matthew 4 the account of when Jesus was tested in the wilderness is given. This took place right after Jesus was baptized in the river Jordan by John the Baptist, and the Holy Spirit descended on Him. And it happened right before Jesus' ministry began. Jesus went into the desert (wilderness) for this purpose. He fasted 40 days and 40 nights and then the devil came to tempt Him. This was all a test for Jesus, and in the end He withstood and stayed faithful to the Father. The Bible teaches us that in the beginning there was Adam and Eve. They were perfect, sinless, and living in Paradise on earth. But, the devil came in and tempted Eve. She gave in and in turn tempted Adam to do the same. They both fell and that is when sin first came to us humans and entered the world. Ever since then we all struggle with it ("for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God," Romans 3:23). But, God always had a plan for our redemption. The Bible teaches that God gave us Jesus to be our redemption. Jesus became the "new Adam." It was like going through the same thing again, only this time the "new Adam" wasn't going to fall for it. When the devil came in and tempted Him, Jesus didn't fall for it. He remained faithful to God. He was always faithful, and ultimately fulfilled His mission to sacrifice His life for our sake. If Jesus wasn't perfect then He wouldn't be able to be our sacrifice, our redemption that makes it possible for us to receive complete forgiveness and to be put into a right place with God - in other words, "saved."

This is the account in Matthew 4:

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted there by the devil. 2 For forty days and forty nights he fasted and became very hungry.

3 During that time the devil came and said to Him, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become loaves of bread.”

4 But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say,

‘People do not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”

5 Then the devil took Him to the holy city, Jerusalem, to the highest point of the Temple, 6 and said, “If you are the Son of God, jump off! For the Scriptures say,

‘He will order his angels to protect you.
And they will hold you up with their hands
so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.’”

7 Jesus responded, “The Scriptures also say, ‘You must not test the Lord your God.’”

8 Next the devil took Him to the peak of a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. 9 “I will give it all to you,” he said, “if you will kneel down and worship me.”

10 “Get out of here, Satan,” Jesus told him. “For the Scriptures say,

‘You must worship the Lord your God
and serve only Him.’”

11 Then the devil went away, and angels came and took care of Jesus.
Jesus feels for you, and always understands. He knows you better than you can even know yourself. He knows every single detail about you from before you were ever born, and knows exactly what's going on and exactly what you need in every moment; He loves you more than anyone else can as He is love and above all else. He is your strongest supporter as He is your Creator, Redeemer, Heavenly Father and your ultimate friend. Without Him we wouldn't exist. "Every good and perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of heavenly lights" (James 1:17). And there is nothing above Him and nothing that He can't handle, and nothing can touch you that He won't allow. It has to pass through Him first. But, be rest assured that God loves us and is with us in everything as we are His, so though we don't always understand, not everything is meant for us to understand ("Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" Proverbs 3:5). And God appoints angels to watch over us as well, "For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." (Psalm 91:11). The Holy Spirit of God is living inside of us, working in us. Jesus refers to Him as our Counselor and Helper. We belong to Him. Jesus bought us with a price (His life) and as soon as we choose to truly give ourselves to Him that's forever and nothing can take that from us no matter what. We as believers are the light of the world (Matthew 5:14); "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven." God has given us the mission and message to produce good things that bring glory to Him and to proclaim His message of salvation. "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do;" (Ephesians 2:10); "Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you." (Matthew 28:19-20). God has plans for our lives and helps us to accomplish those plans ("For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11). And if something doesn't go the way it's supposed to because of our choices, He always has a back-up plan. One of His promises is that He works everything out for the good of those that love Him (Romans 8:28). <3
"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; He rescues those whose spirits are crushed." Psalm 34:18; "Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him." Psalm 33:18; "The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, And His ears are open to their cry." Psalm 34:15; "The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth. He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He also will hear their cry and save them." Psalm 145:18-19; "Draw near to God and He will draw near to you." James 4:8; "The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand."Psalm 37:23-24; "Jesus is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He ever lives to make intercession for them."Hebrews 7:25; "For we do not have a High Priest (Jesus) who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but was in all points tempted as we are, yet without sin."Hebrews 4:15;"Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God,that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him,for He cares for you."1Peter5:6-7;For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil."1 Peter 3:17; "No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man [that is, no temptation or trial has come to you that is beyond human resistance and such as man can bear]; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it." 1 Corinthians 10:13; "Likewise the Holy Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And He who searches the hearts of men knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God." Romans 8:26-27; "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning." Psalm 30:4-5

(Jesus said:)

*"Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
* Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
* Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
* Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
* Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
* Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
* Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
* Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
* Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you." (Matthew 5.3-12)

(Jesus said:) "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid." (John 14.27)

(Jesus said:) "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father's hand. I and My Father are one.'' (John 10.27-30)

"You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in Your bottle. You have recorded each one in Your book." Psalm 56:8; "He will swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; He will remove the disgrace of His people from all the earth. The LORD has spoken." Isaiah 25:8; "He will wipe every tear from their eyes, and there will be no more death or sorrow or crying or pain. All these things are gone forever." Revelation 21:4
Sadly, many people that say they are a Christian are not really, they just think they are. They wrongly assume that you are a Christian because your parents or grandparents were, etc. or because you go to church or read the Bible or because you were "christianed" in a church or because you were baptized or something like that. But, that is not what makes you, yourself, a Christian. Those are just aspects of a Christian life, but have nothing to do with your salvation and putting put right with God. What makes you a Christian is that you have received salvation from God (through Jesus) and have therefore been put right with Him, and are following Him. It is about faith for salvation, then good works comes as a result of living out that faith in your life as you follow Jesus. The word "Christian" means to be a believer and follower of Christ. The ancient Romans made up the term "Christian" long ago because they knew that the followers of Jesus called Him the Christ (the Messiah or Anointed One), but the early followers referred to themselves as "followers of the Way." Because Jesus said that He is "The Way, the Truth and the Life." Ever since then believers of Jesus have been called "Christians." This is mentioned in the Book of Acts in the Bible.

Israel

I love Israel and stand with Israel.

Genesis 12:3: I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt.

Zechariah 2:8: Anyone who harms you harms My most precious possession.

Psalm 137:5-6: If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let My right hand forget how to play the harp. May My tongue stick to the roof of My mouth if I fail to remember you, if I don’t make Jerusalem my greatest joy.
i've had a hard life, but in recent years God has been my rock; He gets me through all the ups and downs of my life; but I have realized, that although I only became a believer a few years ago, God has been with me my whole life; He chose me.

God's High Call For Women

by Grace To You

Although women have traditionally fulfilled supportive roles in serving the church and gained their greatest joy and sense of accomplishment from being wives and mothers, the feminist movement has successfully influenced many women to abandon these divinely ordained roles.

Unfortunately, this movement has made headway even in the church, creating chaos and confusion regarding the role of women both in ministry and in the home. Only in Scripture can God’s intended design for women be found.

The Old Testament and Women

In the creation account of Genesis 1, God’s first word on the subject of men and women is that they were equally created in the image of God (v. 27). Neither received more of the image of God than the other. So the Bible begins with the equality of the sexes. As persons, as spiritual beings standing before God, men and women are absolutely equal.

In Genesis 2, there is a more detailed account of the creation of the two equal human beings that reveals differences in their God-given functions and responsibilities. God did not create the man and the woman at the same time, but rather He created Adam first and Eve later for the specific purpose of being Adam’s helper. Eve was equal to Adam, but she was given the role and duty of submitting to him. Although the word “helper” carries very positive connotations — even being used of God Himself as the helper of Israel (Deut. 33:7; Ps. 33:20) — it still describes someone in a relationship of service to another. The responsibility of wives to submit to their husbands, then, was part of the plan from creation, even before the curse. The first books of the Bible establish both the equality of men and women and also the support role of the wife (see Exod. 21:15, 17, 28–31; Num. 5:19–20, 29; 6:2; 30:1–16).

Throughout the Old Testament, women were active in the religious life of Israel, but generally they were not leaders. Women like Deborah (Judges 4) were clearly the exception and not the rule. There was no woman with an ongoing prophetic ministry. No woman was a priest. No queen ever ruled Israel. No woman wrote an Old Testament (or New Testament) book. Isaiah 3:12 indicates that God allowed women to rule as part of His judgment on the sinning nation.

Jesus and Women

In the midst of the Greek, Roman, and Jewish cultures, which viewed women almost on the level of possessions, Jesus showed love and respect for women. Though Jewish rabbis did not teach women and the Jewish Talmud said it was better to burn the Torah than to teach it to a woman, Jesus never took the position that women, by their very nature, could not understand spiritual or theological truth. He not only included them in His audiences but also used illustrations and images that would be familiar to them (Matt. 13:33; 22:1–2; 24:41; Luke 15:8–10) and specifically applied His teaching to them (Matt. 10:34ff.). To the Samaritan woman at the well (John 4), He revealed that He was the Messiah and discussed with her topics such as eternal life and the nature of true worship. He also taught Mary and, when admonished by Martha, pointed out the priority of learning spiritual truth even over “womanly” responsibilities like serving guests in one’s home (Luke 10:38).

Although men in Jesus’ day normally would not allow women to count change into their hands for fear of physical contact, Jesus touched women to heal them and allowed women to touch Him (Luke 13:10ff.; Mark 5:25ff.). Jesus even allowed a small group of women to travel with Him and His disciples (Luke 8:1–3), an unprecedented happening at that time. After His resurrection, Jesus appeared first to Mary Magdalene and sent her to announce His resurrection to the disciples (John 20:1–18), despite the fact that women were not allowed to be witnesses in Jewish courts because they were considered liars.

In Jesus’ treatment of women, He raised their station of life and He showed them compassion and respect in a way they had never known. This demonstrated their equality. At the same time, however, Jesus still did not exalt women to a place of leadership over men.

The Epistles and Women

In the Epistles, the two principles of equality and submission for women exist side by side. Galatians 3:28 points to the equality, indicating that the way of salvation is the same for both men and women and that they are members of equal standing in the body of Christ. It does not, however, eradicate all differences in responsibilities for men and women, for this passage does not cover every aspect of God’s design for male and female. In addition, there are many other passages that make distinctions between what God desires of men and what He desires of women, especially within family and within the church.

The Family

While Christian marriage is to involve mutual love and submission between two believers (Eph. 5:21), four passages in the New Testament expressly give to wives the responsibility to submit to their husbands (Eph. 5:22; Col. 3:18; Titus 2:5; 1 Pet. 3:1). This voluntary submission of one equal to another is an expression of love for God and a desire to follow His design as revealed in His Word. It is never pictured as demeaning or in any way diminishing the wife’s equality. Rather the husband is called to love his wife sacrificially as Christ loved the church (Eph. 5:25) and to serve as the leader in a relationship of two equals.

While husbands and fathers have been given the primary responsibility for the leadership of their children (Eph. 6:4; Col. 3:21; 1 Tim. 3:4–5), wives and mothers are urged to be “workers at home” (Titus 2:5), meaning managers of the household. Their home and their children are to be their priority, in contrast to the world’s emphasis today on careers and fulltime jobs for women outside the home.

The Church

From the very beginning, women fulfilled a vital role in the Christian church (Acts 1:12–14; 9:36–42; 16:13–15; 17:1–4, 10–12; 18:1–2, 18, 24–28; Rom. 16; 1 Cor. 16:19; 2 Tim. 1:5; 4:19), but not one of leadership. The apostles were all men; the chief missionary activity was done by men; the writing of the New Testament was the work of men; and leadership in the churches was entrusted to men.

Although the Apostle Paul respected women and worked side by side with them for the furtherance of the gospel (Rom. 16; Phil. 4:3), he appointed no female elders or pastors. In his letters, he urged that men were to be the leaders in the church and that women were not to teach or exercise authority over men (1 Tim. 2:12). Therefore, although women are spiritual equals with men and the ministry of women is essential to the body of Christ, women are excluded from leadership over men in the church.

Men and women stand as equals before God, both bearing the image of God Himself. However, without making one inferior to the other, God calls upon both men and women to fulfill the roles and responsibilities specifically designed for them, a pattern that can be seen even in the Godhead (1 Cor. 11:3). In fulfilling the divinely given roles taught in the New Testament, women are able to realize their full potential because they are following the plan of their own Creator and Designer. Only in obedience to Him and His design will women truly be able, in the fullest sense, to give glory to God.

It amazes me that sometimes in western countries a person can be arrested or fined by police or taken to court simply for voicing their beliefs. Has nothing to do with violence or violating a person's privacy, but simply speaking your beliefs out in public. This is insane and an immense violation of rights and freedoms. But, yet it's okay for someone who's not a Christian to speak their beliefs??? Talk about racist and intolerant.
