Hal Lindsey Report (july 8, 2011): Let's Be Friends, Dangerous Liaisons, It Gets Crazy...and Crazier!, P.A. Concession? & 50,000 Missiles

This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'

We all knew it was coming. When the US Administration joined the call for Hosni Mubarak's ouster last winter, everyone who warned about the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood was told that it was so weak and small that its influence on the Egyptian political landscape would be inconsequential. Both the President and the Secretary of State scoffed at the idea that the Brotherhood was anything to worry about.

Remember all those "shovel ready" projects the President promised to fund with his stimulus package? Later, he admitted that there really wasn't any such thing as a "shovel ready" project. But the money was already spent. Well, as Yogi Berra once said, "it's deja vu all over again."

Last week, the Secretary of State tacitly acknowledged that the Muslim Brotherhood is, indeed, a force to be reckoned with. In fact, the Brotherhood is the only organization she specifically named when she invited "all "[Egyptian] parties that are peaceful, and committed to non-violence... to talk with us." This Administration backtracks so much the "moonwalk" should be its official dance.

Of course, the Secretary's invitation to the Muslim Brotherhood makes the President's friend and mentor, George Soros, happy. He's a supporter of Mohamed ElBaradei, the former recalcitrant head of the International Atomic Energy Agency. ElBaradei sits on the boards of several Soros foundations and organizations. He also seems to have the Brotherhood's backing in his run for the presidency of Egypt. And Soros and the Muslim Brotherhood share similar views of America, the Great Satan, and Israel, the Little Satan -- both of which must be destroyed for their world visions to be realized.

Iran has announced that it is normalizing relations with Egypt. The late Egyptian President Anwar Sadat broke off diplomatic relations with Iran when the Iranian students occupied the US embassy in Tehran. He also welcomed the deposed Shah of Iran to exile in Egypt. The acts of supporting the United States during that crisis, befriending the Shah, and signing a peace treaty with Israel were more than the Muslim Brotherhood could bear, so they arranged Sadat's assassination in 1981.

Unfortunately for the Brotherhood, Mubarak survived and succeeded Sadat. He outlawed the Brotherhood and refused to restore relations with Iran. Finally, after 30 years and the help of the United States, the Muslim Brotherhood has gotten its revenge. Both Sadat and Mubarak are gone, Iran is a friend again, and Egypt is well on its way to becoming a theocracy like Iran. By the way, another American President helped Iranian Muslims achieve their goals back in 1979. That hasn't turned out too good for the world, either.

What's up with the United Nations? Just when you think those buffoons over on the East River can't get any wackier, they get wackier! You'll never believe the choices they've made to fill some of the more important offices in the UN's pantheon of organizations. Well, maybe YOU'LL believe it because if you're reading this e-mail, chances are you're a bit more informed and skeptical than the average American. But trust me, it's hard for me to discuss this story with a straight face!

Here's something else you may have a hard time believing. This week, the Palestinian Authority announced that it is willing to make a concession! Mark this date because it may be a historical first. I can't seem to remember the PA ever making a concession. The only concessions I can recall are Israeli ones.

Apparently, the PA is willing to suspend its efforts to coerce the United Nations into recognizing it as an independent nation. Wow, that's a relief. Just think of all the nasty sovereignty issues that will be avoided. There is, however, one minor condition. All the Palestinians want is for Israel to withdraw from the territories captured in 1967 (and later) and return control of east Jerusalem to them. Once that has been done, then the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks can begin in earnest.

That's a little like a prize fight that begins with one boxer face down on the mat and the referee halfway to ten in his count.

So, to put this into perspective, the Quartet is trying to bring Hamas and Fatah together into one, giant, globally-dependent terrorist state dedicated to eradicating Israel. And then, in total defiance of all logic and history, having granted them independent statehood, the UN hopes that they will suddenly and inexplicably change natures, abandon terror, and create a peaceful, industrious and prosperous society living side by side with Israel.

That's pure madness, but it's exactly the madness the prophets predicted for the final days before the return of Christ for His church.

The Israeli military has issued a report that says that Hezbollah now has more than 50,000 missiles for use in its coming attack on Israel. Scattered and hidden throughout Lebanon, the arsenal is larger than that of many nations. This represents an unbelievable threat to the Jewish nation.

So what has America decided to do upon learning about this threat that looms over our Middle East ally? The logical thing of course. (Well, logical for the Obama Administration.) The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has placed Israel on a special watch list of 36 nations that have "a tendency to promote, produce, or protect terrorist organizations or their members." That means that visitors from these countries, including Israel, will be subjected to "special treatment" by US authorities. If detained by Immigration and Customs personnel, they will undergo a special security screening called a "Third Agency check."

To be fair, DHS explains that Israel is on that list because Muslim terror groups like Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and others are located inside the nation's boundaries. On the surface, that may seem logical. In reality, though, Israel has suffered more than anyone else because of those terrorist organizations and the thousands of terror attacks perpetrated by these groups. And now, Israelis are suffering again because of them.

As things wind down and the prophetic scenario for the final days of this Age comes into sharper relief, it's good to know there is a way of escape. Jesus Christ provided it through His atoning sacrifice on the Cross. All we have to do is accept the gift of free pardon His death and resurrection provided. Do it today.

PleaseConvinceMe Blog: Is Christianity Unduly Harsh?

To the secular mind, Christianity can appear to be a giant schoolyard bully, threatening eternal harm for anyone who breaks his rule. A comment to a recent post reflected this position, and helps to bring into focus the difficulty that believers can encounter in trying make their case...

West Bank—Muslims Oppose Christian Youth Center—VOM Sources

John 1:8
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

A Christian mission in Bethlehem faces opposition from neighbors and city leaders over a youth center it has established in a Muslim neighborhood. Pastor Steven Khoury of Holy Land Missions (HLM) said his father, Naim Khoury, was summoned to the courthouse recently and warned that carrying out Christian work in the town of Shepherd’s Field would lead to trouble. But the trouble had already begun. Muslim extremist neighbors of an HLM youth center have verbally attacked two youth leaders and vandalized the building’s locks. They also threatened to attack Pastor Naim and said they would “break the legs” of anyone who enters the youth center. Outreach and prayer meetings are scheduled to begin at the youth center next week. Pray that God will protect those working at the youth center as well as those who attend. Ask God to make the center a shining light in a dark region.

China—Millions Attend Religious Festivals—China Aid Association

1 Thessalonians 1:2–3
We give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers, remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of our God and Father…

China Aid recently reported that a Shouwang Church member who works for the Christian ministry World Vision faced possible dismissal for her participation in the unregistered church’s activities. Shouwang Church has attempted to hold outdoor worship services for the past three months, in protest against government interference of the church’s worship sites. Church member Xia Xiaoqiu was detained several times in recent weeks after attending Shouwang’s outdoor worship services. Xia said the government was urging her employer, the Beijing office of World Vision, to pressure her to quit her job with the ministry. Recently, World Vision contacted China Aid, assuring them that Xia’s “job position is secure and that World Vision has not been under pressure by the government of China to change that in any way.” Pray for Xia and other Chinese Christians who are under great pressure for choosing to worship at unofficial churches.

Gather us together, and deliver us from the Gentiles,
To give thanks to Your holy name,
To triumph in Your praise.”

Persecution against Christians in Uzbekistan increased last month — from raids to fines to literature confiscation — underscoring the need to remember the nation’s believers in prayer. Tohar Haydarov, 27, has been imprisoned since his arrest in March 2010 and is currently serving a 10-year prison sentence for the “illegal sale of narcotic or psychotropic substances in large quantities.” It is widely believed that the charges were fabricated as a means of punishing Tohar for his religious activity. At last report, he had appealed the prison sentence but there had been no indication of progress. Pray that comfort and peace will reign in Tohar as he suffers for his faith. Pray that he will be assured that he is not forgotten, but that he is loved and remembered by God and His people. Pray that the charges against Tohar will be dropped and that he will be released.

Update: Pastor Youcef

UPDATE: Death Sentence Conditionally Annulled

On Sunday, July 3, 2011, Iran's Supreme Court overturned the death sentence that a lower court had imposed on Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani.

“The Supreme Court has annulled the death sentence and sent the case back to the court in Rasht, asking the accused to repent,” said Youcef’s attorney, Mohammad Ali Dadkhah.

The court’s decision lifts Nadarkhani’s death sentence under the condition that he “repent” (recant) his Christian faith. It is unclear whether the death sentence will be re-imposed if he refuses to recant.

Also on Sunday, Nadarkhani’s attorney was sentenced to nine years in prison and has been banned for 10 years from practicing law or teaching at university because of his "actions and propaganda against the Islamic regime.”

Radio Broadcasts Offer Salvation for Colombians

You may be accustomed to going to church, openly worshiping the Lord, and reading your own copy of the Bible. What if even gathering even a few Christians together was illegal in your city, and there was only perhaps one copy of the Bible in your entire town? For people in Colombia, living like this is reality, and some Christians are hard at work reaching these men, women, and children who are calling out for Christ.

Through the power of radio broadcasts, the Gospel message can now reach deeper into the jungles of Colombia than it ever has before, finding those who are desperate for the love of Jesus. Watch and listen to the accounts of "Alex" and "Gabriela", whose lives were transformed through the powerful message broadcast through humble radios in their homes, or through the miraculous packages dropped in parachutes from an airplane flying overhead.

Please remember the Christians in Colombia who continue to work in harsh conditions, and pray for them to remain strong, encouraged, and focused on their very important calling.

Happy Independence Day!

To celebrate and honor the 4th of July, America's Independence Day, I compiled a small list of traditional American patriotic songs that we here in the USA grew up knowing and listening to. I thank God for all that He has done and continues to do, as well as providing me this nation as my own. I would also like to thank and honor my nation's patriarchs and matriarchs for their contribution, devotion and tireless efforts in the formation of this country, and for all of the freedoms and wonderful things that we enjoy about it today. God bless the USA. Amen.

Did Moses Write Genesis?

from Answers in Genesis
by Dr. Terry Mortenson and Bodie Hodge
June 28, 2011

One of the major attacks on the Bible in the past 300 years has been directed against Moses and his authorship of the Pentateuch, the first five books of the Old Testament (Genesis–Deuteronomy). Such attacks on these foundational books of the rest of the Bible come both from non-Christians as well as professing Christians. Seminary courses, theology books, introductions to the Pentateuch in Bibles, and the secular media have promoted the man-made idea that Moses did not write the Pentateuch (also known as the Law or Torah). Instead, it is claimed that at least four different authors (or groups of authors) wrote various portions of these books over many centuries and then one or more redactors (editors) over many years combined and interwove everything together into its present form. However, there is abundant biblical and extra-biblical evidence that Moses wrote the Pentateuch during the wilderness wanderings after the Jews left their slavery in Egypt and before they entered the Promised Land (about 1445–1405 BC). Contrary to the liberal theologians and other skeptics, it was not written after the Jews returned from exile in Babylon (ca. 500 BC). Christians who believe Moses wrote the Pentateuch do not need to feel intellectually intimidated. It is the enemies of the truth of God that are failing to think carefully and face the facts honestly.

The Heart of Kingdom Authority

June 2011
by John Paul Jackson
http://www.streamsministries.com

Jesus Christ came to Earth fully human, fully man, to redeem humanity and reveal something that most of us don’t notice right away: He revealed the authority we are capable of walking in. Basically, His life says to us, “Watch what I do, because everything I do, you can do. I get everything from the Father, and you can do everything I do if you have the relationship with Him that I have. And by the way, I have come to ensure that such a relationship with Him is possible for you.”

I have been a Christian for about 55 years, and as many of you have probably experienced, day-in, day-out Christian life can feel somewhat stagnant — unless we have something to make it interesting. If you are bored in your Christian walk, something is missing!

Perhaps it is the understanding that it takes more than power to make a Christian life really interesting. It also takes authority.

Why authority?

The major difference between power and authority is that anybody can have power — it is a gift, but authority comes only from intimate, abiding relationship with God and that takes effort. Authority is bestowed upon us through relationship, and therefore it is only as deep as that relationship.

Because it is rooted and wrapped in God’s presence, authority is greater than power. That is why Jesus gave the disciples authority over all the power of the enemy. Power does not necessitate relationship because it is an irrevocable gift. It can be residual or momentary; we may exercise it often, or it could happen only once in our lives. The devil clearly has power and uses it for his own purposes. He does not, however, have authority. He lost that when he fell from Heaven, which is why the disciples said, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

Power is recognized once it happens, but authority is recognized before it happens. The demons recognized that Jesus had authority before He ever did anything. In other words, they knew Him by His relationship with God, and therein lies the secret. We can have a power encounter and never change, but transformation comes with authority, because it involves time spent in the presence and heartbeat of our Father.

Relationship with God

Relationship is the heart of Kingdom authority. The Bible says to seek first the Kingdom and God’s righteousness, and everything else will be added to us. If we want to walk in spiritual authority, we need to put relationship with our Father first. We need to take on the nature of Christ by spending time with Him: time in His Word, time in prayer, time relating to Him. Then through time and experience with Him, we adopt a heart of obedience, which is the heart of a servant, and we adopt a heart of submission, which is the heart of a friend.

The Kingdom of God is based on authority. It conquers through power, but it rules through authority.

Hunger for God

Many people question why much of the Western Church is powerless. I would say we’re more “authority-less” than powerless. Generally speaking, the Church has forgotten about being transformed into His likeness. Five or 10 years after a revival, we sit back and wonder why we’re not different. Some of us aren’t even as close to God as we were before the revival, let alone after the revival. Again, power doesn’t change us. But authority always will because it involves God’s heart.

In the coming months, I think the Church as a whole is going to be reintroduced to the Father, and a hunger for authority is going to ensue. With that hunger for authority, we will see more spiritual encounters than we have in 20 or 30 years. Signs and wonders occur in the place where God’s power and hunger for authority combine.

If we want to have the kind of authority that disrupts the enemy, we have to have deep relationship with our Father. That relationship is the key to everything. It is the answer to this question of authority and power, and it is the answer to what many Christians fear: an inconsequential, mundane existence.

As we seek Him and His righteousness, we will naturally begin to exercise more of His Kingdom, and we will find what has been missing in our lives. We will find more of His heart.

Hal Lindsey Report (july 1, 2011): Independence Day 2011, Prophetic Year in Review 2010, Christian Citizen & The Greatest Freedom

This week on 'The Hal Lindsey Report'

As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day 2011, I am saddened and alarmed by the increasing number of Americans who are anti-God, anti-Christian, and anti-Constitution. Even TIME magazine this week questions whether the U.S. Constitution really matters.

I'm also greatly concerned about whether there are enough dedicated and bold Christians left in America to stand up and fight for the unprecedented freedoms that have been handed down to us by our God-fearing forefathers. Why are there so few defenders willing to proclaim what is right with our nation and our heritage? No man or state is perfect, but what other nation has provided more freedom for more people the world over than the United States of America? What other nation has provided such opportunity for its citizens to pursue their dreams? What other nation is always first to rush to the aid of people in all parts of the globe who have suffered catastrophe? The answer is none.

I firmly believe that if we don't wake up and begin to take our responsibilities as citizens seriously, then soon we may have few liberties left for which to be thankful.

I believe that one of the greatest roadblocks to the ascension of a one-world government thus far has been the United States. And the one American institution that has guaranteed this restraint is our extraordinary Constitution. I believe God had a hand in the development of this document, in part, to inhibit the rise of a global government.

But the battle against the Constitution is in full fury now. As we near the conclusion of the "time of the gentiles," I feel America must decline in global significance. That cannot happen until our Constitution, and thus our individual rights and freedoms, are severely curtailed by our enemies, foreign and domestic.

We are seeing that happen daily in a relentless and determined manner. And I believe that many Americans don't recognize the danger because they don't appreciate the value of that document. And I don't believe we can truly understand and appreciate its value until we know something about the beliefs and philosophies of the men who drafted it. I'm going to examine the thoughts of some of those men this week.

Over the years, a few of you have e-mailed to complain that I'm too political on the program. Some say that I should be loving people into the Kingdom of God (and I don't argue with that), rather than warning our nation about what I see looming on the horizon. A couple have told me that I should be supportive of the leadership in our country and trust God to make them see the errors in their thinking. (Imagine saying that to the ancient prophets! They declared the errors directly to the leaders themselves!) Well, this week, I'll explain to you why I continue to sound the alarm about the dangers inherent in the direction this administration is leading our nation on many moral, cultural, and spiritual issues. And I'll tell you why I think God expects more from Christian citizens than ordinary ones.

Finally, as we celebrate our national independence and individual freedoms this Fourth of July, I want to point out that, as great as those blessings are, there is a freedom that is greater still. That is the freedom from sin and eternal separation from God that Jesus Christ purchased with His death on Calvary. There's no better time to accept the free gift of pardon His sacrifice secured for you. Then you can truly celebrate this year the greatest freedom of them all.

I want to wish all of you a Happy Independence Day, but especially the men and women who serve our nation -- and have served our nation -- in the armed forces and in the ranks of the first-responders across the country and around the world. We owe much of our freedom, our security, and our quality of life to you brave and unselfish fellow citizens. God bless you and keep you. And God bless America!

Carman - America Again

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KYtCanpBhVg

Verse 1: George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, First Chief Justice John Jay. Names synonomous with the spirit of our country, founding fathers of the U.S.A. Over 200 years ago they shook off the chains of tyrany from Great Britain, by divine call. Citing 27 biblical violations, they wrote the Declaration of Independence, with liberty, and justice, for all. But something happened since Jefferson called the Bible the cornerstone for American liberty, then put it in our schools as a light. Or since 'Give me liberty or give me death!' Patrick Henry said, our country was founded on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We eleminated God from the equation of American life, thus eleminating the reason this Nation first began. From beyond the grave I hear the voices of our founding fathers plead, you need God in America, again. Of the 55 men who formed the Constitution, 52 were active members of their church. Founding fathers like Noah Webster, who wrote the first dictionary, could literally quote the Bible, chapter and verse. James Madison said, 'We've staked our future on our ability to follow the 10 Commandments, with all our heart.' These men believed you couldn't even call yourself an American, if you subvert the Word of God. In his farewell address, Washington said, 'You can't have national morality apart from Religious principal,' and it's true. Cause right now we have nearly a hundred and fifty thousand kids carrying guns to these warzones we call public schools. In the 40s and 50s student problems were chewing gum and talking, in the 90s, rape and murder are the trend. The only way this nation can even hope to last this decade, is put God in America, again!
Chorus: The only hope, for America, is Jesus. The only hope, for our country, is Him. If we repent, of our ways, stand firm and say, 'We need God in America, again.'
Verse 2: Abe Lincoln said, 'The philosophy of the schoolroom in one generation, will be the philosophy of government in the next.' So when you eleminate the Word of God from the classroom and politics, you eleminate the nation that Word protects. America is now number one in teen pregnancy and violent crime, number one in illiteracy, drug use, and divorce. Everyday a new holocaust of 5,000 unborn die, while pornography floods our streets like open sewers. America's dead and dying hand is on the threshold of the Church, while the spirit of Sodom and Gomorrah vex us all. When it gets to teh point when peoplle would rather come out of the closet than clean it, it's the sign the Judgement of God is gonna fall. If there's ever been a time to rise up Church it's now, and as the blood-bought saints of the living God proclaim. That it's time to sound the alarm from the Church House, to the White House and say, 'We want God, in America, again!' (We need God in America, God in America again). I believe it's time America to stand up and proclaim, that 'One Nation Under God' is our demand! And send this evil lifestyle back to Satan where it came from, and let the Word of God revive our dying land! For Jesus Christ is coming back again in all His glory, and every eye shall see Him on that day. That's why a new annointing of God's power's comin on us, to boldly tell the World 'You must be saved!' Because astrology won't save you, your horoscope won't save you, the Bible says these things are all a farce. If you're born again you don't need to look to the stars for your answers, cause you can look to the very One who made those stars. History tells us time and time again, to live like there's no God makes you a fool. If you wanna see kids live right, stop handing out condoms, and start handing out the Word of God in schools!
(Chorus 2X)
We need God, in America
(We need) God in America
We need God, in America again
America again

Pakistan—Evangelists Threatened and Under Investigation—VOM Sources

Proverbs 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Muslim leaders in a remote Pakistani community threatened an evangelist recently, telling him to stop his work or he would “see results coming in the future.” The men approached “Salman,” the evangelist, as he distributed gospel literature. They told him, “We are well aware of what you are doing here; you are trying to convert Muslims to Christianity. We warn you to stop these activities.” Unshaken by their threats, Salman boldly replied, “I am here because my God sent me. … When the Lord asks me to leave this place I will do it, but until then I will not leave.” In another Pakistani city, officials visited an evangelist’s office and asked if Christians were involved in converting Muslims to Christianity. The officials also asked about the evangelist’s source of funding. Christians who work in the office are now under investigation, and authorities are also watching their mail. Pray that God will grant wisdom and protection to all those sharing the gospel in Pakistan.

Sudan—Growing Violence in Sudan—Samaritan’s Purse

Psalm 33:20
Our soul waits for the LORD;
He is our help and our shield.

Intense fighting has erupted along the border between north and south Sudan. Eyewitnesses report that dozens of civilians have been killed and more than 60,000 displaced. Two churches built in the area by the Christian ministry Samaritan’s Purse (SP) were burned, and multiple bombs have been dropped near an airstrip used for SP relief efforts. In addition, attackers looted the home of some of the ministry workers and burned their offices. “Churches and pastors were directly targeted,” one pastor said. The renewed violence comes at a critical time in Sudan’s history, as south Sudan is preparing to become an independent nation on July 9. If the fighting continues, it could escalate into another civil war. Pray for a peaceful transition of power. Pray that Christians in both north and south Sudan will wait in hope on the Lord.

Afghanistan—Christian Beheaded—World Magazine

Jeremiah 31:17
If we endure,
We shall also reign with Him.
If we deny Him,
He also will deny us.

A recently-released video shows four Afghan militants beheading a man believed to be a Christian in Herat province. The militants, who claim to be Taliban, captured Abdul Latif from his village outside the town of Enjeel. In the video, the men, whose faces are covered with scarves, recite verses from the Quran as they pin Latif to the ground. They read an indictment that references Sura 8:12: “Whoever changes his religion should be executed.” One militant stabs Latif in the neck with a knife, and the men shout “Allahu Akbar!” (God is great) repeatedly until he is fully beheaded. They then place Latif’s head on his chest. Afghan Christians warn of dire consequences for believers when American forces leave Afghanistan. “If U.S. troops are not in Afghanistan, the Taliban will come to power,” Afghan Christian Obaid S. Christ told World Magazine. “We will have the same situation we had in the 1990s when the Russians left Afghanistan, when we had civil war and millions killed.” Pray for the protection of Christians in Afghanistan. Pray that other Afghans will find hope and peace in Christ as they anticipate more violence. Pray that God will grant wisdom to those involved in determining Afghanistan’s future.
