Psalm 91 "God Our Protector"

Psalm 91 "God Our Protector"

Whoever goes to the Lord for safety,
whoever remains under the protection of the Almighty,
can say to Him,
"You are my defender and protector. You are my God; in you I will trust."
He will keep you safe from all hidden dangers
and from all deadly diseases.
He will cover you with His wings;
you will be safe in His care;
His faithfulness will protect and defend you.
You need not fear any dangers at night
or sudden attacks during the day
or the plagues that strike in the dark
or the evils that kill in the daylight.
A thousand may fall dead beside you,
ten thousand all around you,
but you will not be harmed.
You will look and see
how the wicked are punished.
You have made the LORD your defender,
the Most High your protector,
and so no disaster will strike you,
no violence will come near your home.
God will put His angels in charge of you
to protect you wherever you go.
They will hold you up with their hands
to keep you from hurting your feet on the stones.
You will trample down lions and snakes,
fierce lions and poisonous snakes.
God says, "I will save those who love me
and will protect those who acknowledge me as LORD.
When they call to me, I will answer them;
when they are in trouble, I will be with them.
I will rescue them and honor them.
I will reward them with long life; I will save them."

Michele's Book Of Poetry

Wow, I just found an old book of poetry that I wrote when I was in 6th grade (11-12 yrs. old). At the school I attended that year, all of the students were required to write one book of poetry and one short story. I haven't seen this for years, and as I was looking at it I just laughed and smiled.

MICHELE'S BOOK OF POETRY

Wasn't It

My cat Misty was a special present that I had.
Black fur
Green eyes
Mysterious ways
Wasn't She?

My cat Misty was a friend
A guide
A present
A nice cat
Wasn't She?

The cuddly fur has gone away
The sharp, bold eyes do not peer out
Where is Misty? What of Misty?
She was just here today
Wasn't She?

Sunny The Bunny
There once was a bunny named Sunny
Who had a desire for honey,
She was a site (*my 11 yr. old misspelling),
For she was all white,
It must have been pretty funny.

A Weird Cat
There once was a cat named Zat
Who did nothing but sat,
He wore a vest,
That scared a nest,
He must have eaten a tack.

The Crazy Sailors
Red in the morning sailors warning,
Red at night sailors delight.

They work on days with weather like snow,
Their bosses (*mispelling again) name is Moe.

They're as nice as bringing joy to thee,
Even when their ships sink to the sea.

As soon as the light goes down.
The sailors have a pouring frown.

As soon as the light goes up,
The smiling never clumps.

So if you come across them one day,
You'd be better off seeing them on a day in May.

Michele (this is my best-liked one)
Loving,
Trustworthy,
Understanding,

Wishes to have no fear,

Dreams of making peace in the world,

Wants to heal the sick, homeless, and poor.

Who mostly wonders what it is like living in heaven.

Who fears bad things.

Who is afraid of very bad storms, especially tornadoes.

Who likes animal.

Who believes in God.

Who loves my family

Who loves Chinese food.

Who loves most sports.

Who loves God.

Who plans to be a T.V. news reporter or broadcaster.

Who plans to be a faithful wife.

Who plans to live a good life.

Whose final destination is heaven.

Columbus
In the year 1492
Columbus sailed the ocean blue.
Riding on three ships with pointy tips
For the others to see that the round is true

Alone with the three good ships that were made not to fall.
It took forever just to prove it.
When the situation became very tall.
Columbus fixed it by to the move the dates.

The plan worked out to not fail
In a while. There were there
But they were safe for they had walls,
They found what they were looking for.

Religion Vs. Relationship

Religion or relationship - two words with two very different meanings. For many, being religious means trying to follow a rigid list of rules and regulations in order to be accepted and loved by God. As a result, serving the Lord becomes a chore and a burden. On the other hand, having a relationship with God is all about fellowship. It is enjoying unbroken communication and companionship with the Father based on what Jesus did and not what we do. Are you struggling and straining to live right and be accepted by God? You don't have to. Through Jesus Christ, God extends a warm invitation to be in relationship with Him.

"So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God." (Romans 5:11) (NLT)

Faith Evangelism Team Update

I'm on the FAITH Team at church. It is an evangelism training course, and we go out and make visits to people. We make both evangelistic and ministry visits. Most of them are either those who have some connection to our church (like they made a visit) or they are visits requested by other members of our church. Sometimes we do "Welcome Wagon" visits - people who are new in the community - which we treat as evangelistic. We also sometimes go up to people that are just in the neighborhood we're visiting. Every year there are two semesters of Faith Training - from february to may and the other from august to november. Every semester we see big numbers of people getting saved, baptized or rededicating their lives to Christ. We do not do this in order to just get people to join our church or to get money. The aim is for people to get to hear the Gospel message and hopefully decide to give their lives to Christ. If it's a ministry visit, to just go and offer a loving hand to those who are already saved, and just need a comforting visit from those who care or need some kind of help that the church can provide.

This semester, so far, there have been 45 people who have prayed to commit their life to Christ! The Gospel has been presented 108 times. There have also been many people who have gotten baptized this semester. Praise God! There are still four more weeks left of the semester. Please be in prayer for us!

The Answer

The Answer

Whatever your struggle...loneliness, guilt, suicide, sex, stress, life after death, purpose in life, aids, abortion, drugs...there is an Answer!

God

Then why don't more people experience this full life?

1) God loves you and has a great plan for your life!
*He created you for a purpose: to have a personal relationship with Him (Genesis 1:27).
*He wants you to experience a full and abundant life - right here on earth. Jesus said, "My purpose is to be give life in all its fullness" (John 10:10).

2) Because of sin in your life, you are separated from God.
*We are all sinners in need of God's forgiveness (Romans 3:23).
*The price for sin is death (eternal separation from God) (Romans 6:23). "...Your sins have cut you off from God" (Isaiah 59:2).

3) sin separates man from God, but there is hope...

4) The price is already paid! "God showed His love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners" (Romans 5:8).

5) It's free! Eternal salvation is a free gift (Ephesians 2:8-9). You can't be saved by: good works, Bible knowledge, morality nor religion. You can't earn your way to Heaven. There is only one way...

6) Jesus is the Answer! The only answer. "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me" (John 14:6).

7) It's up to you. You must decide for yourself if you are willing to turn from your sins and ask Jesus into your heart. (Romans 10:9, John 1:12).

Prayer: Jesus, I ask you into my heart to be my Savior and Lord, please forgive my sins and give me the gift of eternal life.
Congratulations on your new beginning!

8) Once you ask Jesus into your life you know that you have eternal life. (1 John 5:11-12, John 10:28-29).

It is important that you:
a. Be baptized and get involved in a local church.
b. Get help from a mature believer.
c. Spend daily time in prayer and Bible reading.
d. Share with others what Jesus has done for you.

Not as good works to get saved, but of living the Christian life once you are already saved.

Sin - The Black Hole

This is a very interesting video that Dave Smale on tangle.com made. He took an advertisement from TV and edited it in such a way that really reflects the reality of sin. He said, "I've used it to illustrate how sin can look like something beneficial at first, but leave you trapped once you trust in it." Amen.

Update 06/27/2011: The original link is no longer available so I found the original video. As far as I know the original video was not meant to be seen as symbolic to sin and greed. It's just an interesting video. Although it's not the same as the Dave Smale version, I believe the symbolic connection between the black hole and sin can still be clearly seen in the video if you look at it that way.

Hal Lindsey Report - Terrorist Propaganda Masters & Media Bias

I am going to just be blatantly honest here. I know some people wouldn't agree with my statements and might even become angry by my statements, but I need to tell the truth. This is in regards to Israel and the terrorists. People fail to realize that many of the muslim nations of the world are really being run by the terrorists. In the Israeli-Gaza Strip conflict people assumed that Israel was acting as a terrorist when, in reality, Israel was only defending itself; and rightfully so, unless you are not supposed to defend yourself when 800+ rockets have been launched at you for two years and have caused the injury and deaths of many people. The fact is that Palestinian death tolls were greatly exaggerated and most of them were actually fabricated. Most of the deaths of Palestinians that did occur were actually caused by the Palestinian's own "government." I use the term government loosely because it is really a terrorist-run organization. Most of the Palestinians that died in the Gaza conflict were actually by the hands of their own terrorist-run government called hamas. And, yes, hamas are that sick to do something like that. That is because they believe in their cause so much that they are willing to do anything - literally anything - to fulfill it, even to the point of killing their own people. In their minds, this is an honorable cause. Why would so many muslim nations vote for leaders like this? Most of the money that was given to Gaza for aid (like for food and health supplies) actually went to the military which they used to just shoot rockets all the time and cause havoc. Ironically enough, the Arabs have more rights living in Israel then they do in their own countries. Why is that? I think the Israelis - their so-called enemies - care more about the Arabs then their own government just based on that, don't you think? They also have a belief that if you lie in order to fulfill the ultimate agenda then this is okay. That sounds like "the ends justifies the means." That is why so many of these terrorists have made so-called peace contracts with world leaders and then they turn their backs on it. They do not really care to have peace with Israel. They use the peace contracts as a way to get Israel to let their guard down just a bit and then they continue their plots. They always do this. They want to destroy Israel because that is their belief. They are willing to do whatever it takes to achieve that. If you don't know this then you don't understand their beliefs. This is one of their own tactical tricks in order to boost support for themselves in the world and fulfill their agenda. They try to make Israel look like the bad guy and twist everything around. This is routine for them. Sadly, it looks like it worked again. The fact that the world is buying into the lies proves how literally insane much of the world really is. The president of Iran actually said that he wants Israel to be blown of the map, and that Israel is the "little satan" and America is the "great satan." What's that all about? And, many of the world leaders seem to never learn from history. Many of the nations surrounding Israel are always wanting Israel to give away land. They say land for peace. Yet, every time Israel gives away land there is never peace. The muslim nations always want something more and so Israel keeps giving more and more land away. Why is it that there's never peace then? It is because the muslim nations do not really want peace with Israel because they are taught to hate Israel and to not want it to exist. First, they want this piece of land and next they want Jerusalem. They will keep bargaining until Israel is gone because that is their ultimate goal. Why do these muslim nations want Israel's land so much? Israel is so small compared to the rest of the middle east that it's pathetic. Israel is only 1/6 of 1% of the total land-mass of the middle east. So, why is the land of Israel always of so much concern to the muslim nations - particularly Palestine? I know they care about Jerusalem because it is a holy city to them, yet it is not their holiest city - that would be Medina. But, to the Jews, no place is more holy than Jerusalem. So, there is no contest then as to who considers it more holy. It is not like the muslims are not allowed to go to Jerusalem to visit the city for a pilgrimage. As the Bible says, Israel are God's chosen people and there is a grave penalty for doing evil towards them. Furthermore, the land of Israel really belongs to God Himself (who miraculously brought together the current state of Israel in the land as was prophesied in the Bible thousands of years ago) and it is not to be divided in any way - especially Jerusalem. Even Israel has hurt themselves by making land-for-so-called-peace negotiations throughout the past few decades (which always include certain agreements that the other side never fulfills though as far as I know Israel does fulfill their end of the bargain). So, dividing the land of Israel is actually condemned by God in the Bible ( you shall not divide my land, God says in the Bible). And, I want to make one last point. I am not saying that all of the people in the muslim nations are terrorists and that all of them hate Israel and that all of them are for the terrorist-run governments. But, many of them are and this is their culture and part of their beliefs. Don't get me wrong, I do not hate the Palestinians nor anyone. I love the Palestinian people, the muslims and even the terrorists (though I hate their wrong actions), but I also love Israel. And many of these nations and terrorist groups are not doing right towards Israel. Israel hasn't really done anything wrong towards them. Don't give into the lies. Question the media. Check the history. Check the Bible. See the truth for yourself.

The Modern Lie

The deeply-flawed big bang theory...

This is a teaching from Creation In The 21st Century. It shows evidence of the flaws of the big bang theory and how it does not really explain the origins of the earth. Let God be true and every man a liar.

Jack Van Impe Presents - Beware of "new age" teaching

Dr. Jack Van Impe talks about the dangers of the "new age" religion that is sweeping across the country. This is a danger that we should realize and be careful to avoid or turn away from for those who have been caught up in it. This belief system is a huge lie and is very deceptive. It is very anti-God and will only hurt you. It should be avoided at all costs. www.jvim.com

Britain's Got Talent Contestant Susan Boyle

Britain's Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle blows the audience away with her rendition of "Cry Me A River" by Elaine Page. Watch as the audience and judges initially look at her like she's a complete doofus, but in the end give her a standing ovation for her amazing performance which they were completely shocked by. This is an example of why we should not stereotype people based on their looks and/or background and doubt their abilities. This should be a lesson to all of us.

Adam To Noah - Redemption Plan In Names

These are the first ten generations of male human beings: Adam, Seth, Enos, Canaan, Mahalaleel, Jared, Enoch, Methuselah, Lamech and Noah. These men of the Bible, over 4000 years ago, knew a prophecy of God coming down to earth to save mankind. Most people assume that the story of salvation is only told in the New Testament. But, actually, the story of salvation was revealed from the very beginning. Even the meaning of the names of the first ten generations of men in the Bible reveals the ultimate redemption of mankind through God and how it would happen:

Haadam (Adam) - the first man; ruddy/human; to show blood (in the face)/red
Sheth (Seth) - put, place, set up, appointed
Enosh (Enos) - son of Sheth, a mortal, to be frail/feeble, melancholy
Kenan (Canaan) - fixed, a nest, to erect, habitation, dwelling place
Mahalaleel - Praise of God, blessed God, fame, strength/mighty, be strong, be clear/shine, make a show, rave
Yered (Jared) - a descent, to descend, he shall come down
Chanok (Enoch) - initiated, trained, initiate, narrow, dedicate, consecrate, train up
Methushelach (Methuselah) - man of a dart, an adult, extent, when, missile of attack, to send away/send for/send out
Lemek (Lamech) - son of Methusael/Methuselah; a cative, someone who is ruled
Noach (Noah) - rest, quiet, comfort

Ultimate Translation
Man (Is) Appointed Mortal Sorrow (But) The Blessed God Shall Come Down Teaching (And) His Death Shall Bring The Captives Rest

This is exactly what God did thousands of years later in Jesus. Human beings are appointed mortal sorrow, but the Blessed God came down teaching (Jesus) and His death brought the captives (fallen human beings) rest. It amazes me how deep and rich the Bible really is to see a prophecy like this in something so simple as a name.

John Paul Jackson - Different Types Of Dreams & Their Meanings

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QvjJvahGyMo

John Paul Jackson, a Christian minister, speaks at a conference about dreams and visions. Why do we have dreams? Where do they come from? Do dreams matter? What is the meaning of dreams? How do you interpret them? Are there different kinds of dreams, and if so, what are they? In this set of videos, and with the Bible as his guide, these are all questions that JPJ attempts to answer. This is part 9 of 15 where JPJ really starts getting into the different kinds of dreams and their meanings. My Precious Kitten Steady (09-01-08-04-06-09)

He was a sickly kitten ever since he was born. He had a disease that made him shake all the time and he had poor balance. He would get dirty easily and have a hard time getting around. He would attract a lot of fleas and couldn't take care of himself properly, though he tried. He was probably anemic. Then, a freak accident happened which ultimately probably caused his death. Somehow he trapped himself underneath the refrigerator in a very hot spot where the wires are. He must have been in there the better part of a day and it was also a very hot day so it was even worse. We kept looking for him and had no idea where he was until my brother found his tail. Then, we pulled him out. He was extremely dehydrated and couldn't hardly breath. We kept trying to nurse him back to health, but he was so weak he couldn't even eat or drink anything. The next morning I took him to the vet, but the vet couldn't seem to do much. He gave him a steroid shot and a liquified sugar pill as insulin. Yet, despite this, he didn't improve much. But, I told myself that after what happened to Shima that I would try to do better if something were to happen to the other cats. That's why I took him to the vet. It cost $36, which is money we don't really have, and the vet didn't do very much, but at least I tried to do something more than what I could do at home. Every time we thought he was going to die, he never did. There was miracle after miracle. But, in his final moments he gasped for air. Then, he went silent. We thought he died, but he didn't. Then, I tried to give him some water through a straw to hydrate him, though I knew there was the possibility that he wouldn't have the energy to even swallow it. I had to do something for him. So, I decided to do it. But, he must have choked on it. I tried to help him get the water out or something, but it was too late. He was on his last breath and that took the rest out of him. My family kept praying for him and he got better after we prayed for him. But, I also prayed to God that he would take care of Steady and do what was best for Him. I commended Steady up to God. Steady was so miserable and sick during those last two days and in his whole life that part of me just wanted him to get out of his misery and pass away. I felt so bad for him, but being sickly made him even more special than the other cats that we have. He wasn't afraid of anything and he loved to be around us. He was the best kitten that you could ever have.
