Update on Our Current Crisis
May 2, 2012, 3:45 pm UTC

Thank you to everyone who responded to last week's newsletter describing our current financial crisis.

Three of the first responses came from the United Kingdom, and we also heard from four people in Australia and another in New Zealand.

It's humbling to think there are people we've never met who care so much about this ministry.

Your prayers and donations are helping us greatly. We still have a ways to go, but last week's response made a significant dent.

If you'd like to help in our current financial crisis, you can do so online at:

If you prefer to mail a check or money order, please make it out to "ApologetiX" and send it to:

Donations are not tax-deductible, but they will be put to use immediately, and they are for a good cause. :)

J. Jackson, lead singer and lyricist for ApologetiX here.

A friend in Christian radio tells me he's done more than 100 fund drives in his career. I feel like I've done that many in the past year.

Seems like every time we turn around there's some new crisis. I'm sure it's gotten old for you, too. As Proverbs 19:17 says:

"A poor man is shunned by all his relatives--how much more do his friends avoid him! Though he pursues them with pleading, they are nowhere to be found."

We're not to that point yet but we may soon be. Trouble is, if we don't speak up, ApologetiX may be nowhere to be found.

So I have a responsibility to the seven families and 21 kids this band supports to make our needs known to God and you.

Please read the update below and keep us in prayer.

Why We're in Such a Crisis
April 25, 2012, 1:27 am UTC

Our new bus still isn't ready, so we had to rent a van again for this weekend. We've spent almost $15,000 in rentals since last fall.

Since our rash of vehicle problems started last year, it's cost us an additional $20,000-plus in repairs to our old and new buses.

We probably lost another $25,000 in ticket/CD sales from concerts cancelled by vehicle problems last year.

Add in the price of the new bus itself, and you have over $65,000 in expenses over and above our normal operating costs.

Many fans point out that if each fan-club member just gave a dollar, that would be $65,000. Unfortunately, that's not the way it works.

About 8% of fans read any newsletter. If we ask for help, one out of every 400 fans may respond. If each of them gives a dollar, that's $162.50.

Thankfully, those who do give, give generously, according to their means. We rejoice at any gift received, no matter what the amount.

This is not meant to be a guilt trip. We don't feel that any fan owes us anything. We're just explaining why we're currently in such a crisis.
